The only mistake my generation made was teaching yours that you all need 4-year degrees. That was an honest-to-God mistake that I wish we could take back. Instead, we should have taught you that you should only get a 4-year degree if you’re rich, or if your future career requires it. If we had done that, we’d have

You can straight into the workforce in a field that doesn’t require a 4-year degree, and save money BEFORE going to a 4-year college. Also, many employers offer tuition reimbursement after some minimum employment term. Neither of those are “full of shit” ways of working yourself through college without debt.

Not great advice. I think this case shows if they try anything like that, they’re gonna get shot.

Holding back innovation to protect a job sector is not a good, long-term strategy.

There must not be enough new instances of black injustice if this is all you have to write about.

We should allow Michael Phelps to compete against women. It’s not his fault he was born with advantages over them.

All those leaves are really bothering me.

I hate when I don’t get invited to mythical things.

We’re actually lucky not to be so rich.

Why do we need ketchup when we already have tomatoes?

I scrolled down and couldn’t find the recipes section. Is that in a related Takeout article?

Agreed. This is pretty much straight-up Catholic doctrine. Either you believe in it or you don’t.

The car will attempt to choose a legal path that does not impact either pedestrian. If such a legal path does not exist, it will brake as much as possible towards whichever pedestrian is furthest away. That is what the law requires of any driver, human or otherwise.

The Trolley Car Problem you use is a false dilemma that ignores how autonomous cars will only act WITHIN the limits of traffic laws. They will do everything they can to avoid a collision WITHIN traffic laws. Intentionally steering into a pedestrian will never be an option for an autonomous car because it is NOT legal.

Accidents happen for 3 reasons:

Who is to blame when your car is driving itself and gets into a wreck?

If Level 5 autonomy performs better than a human driver does in the same, 5-lane-change-fast-slow-down scenario, then it’s a success, and it matters very much.

Yes. Definitely would choose to have dinner Hitler. But only if my mother-in-law does the cooking.

I’d just slide that wad over to my father, because he’s one of the state’s top brokers.
