I’d argue that any standard of “fitness” that included a roided up freakshow like him is neither standard nor useful.

... I still don’t understand. :P

There is a Netflix documentary on body builders and the amount of them that come from broken homes or had issues growing up really sheds light on how they became so obsessive with what they do. For many of them, it is a disorder, but society doesn’t really identify it as such since they appear to not be hurting

Have you ever read the comments on any story here about Barry Bonds?

“Excellence,” eh? Hey guys, I think I found the narcissistic personality disorder!

Okay, just read the articles. Felix loves Piana. He’s fascinated by him. He idolizes him and the other steroid-monster bodybuilders.

A bodybuilder who gets giant by taking steroids is no different from the woman with way too much plastic surgery and huge fake boobs. It all comes down to massive insecurity. It’s actually quite sad.

I am sure some do idolize but I think many look at it in the same way they do a car accident or circus freak.

The author of this article clearly does.

Felix does. He’s written about Piana a couple times, and he never really expresses any disapproval for the steroid use that killed him.

Didn’t seem very fit to me as evidenced by the deadness.

Although I’m not big into bodybuilding, I do watch quite a few vids on Youtube, and this guy permeated almost all comment sections. Yet every time someone dies early from steroid abuse, there are flocks of people who show up to say it’s perfectly safe.

I never met anyone who did. I mean, we laugh at them a lot. Strange, fucked up creatures they are.

Isn’t a little misleading to talk about him in terms of “fitness?” I mean, what Piana did is more comparable to Shoenice than it is to actual fitness, isn’t it?

I’ve never understood why we idolize steroid monsters.

One thing I look at is the top critical review. If it has been marked unhelpful numerous times, I avoid either that product or that seller.

I was just ready to purchase a lightning deal item with 120+ 5***** ratings and when I switched to only “Verified Purchase” customers that number dropped to one angry person with nothing good to say, and I realized the rest must have been fake.  I do filter results now.

Well no, not really. “Certified Organic” has an extremely specific, multifaceted, government-regulated meaning.
