Winston Groom’s book is funny, caustic, and nothing like the film. The differences between the two are encapsulated in the opening lines. While the movie opens with the wholesome “Life is like a box of chocolates” line, the book opens like this:

Very gracious of Boat not to mention the time his tweet was mistaken for a genuine Orwell quote by.... The Guardian.
SHE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE
I can't believe this isn't a Quibi show
Sherlock Holmes In My Feelings Challenge 2020.
Farhers and Sons is great and I have no idea why it’s on this list, which makes me wonder if I’m oblivious to my own assholeness?
John Cale was the person responsible for the version most people know. He did so much reworking that I genuinely believe he deserves a co-writing credit. Jeff Buckley’s version, which was the first version I ever heard, is a cover of Cale's version.
They could have scored the Batman v Superman trailer with One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong.
He needed and deserved that money so I’m glad he got paid, but when it was The X Factor winner’s song (complete with sleigh bells and a key change), the song was over. That was 2008.
Oooooh, I didn’t know she’d covered it. Thanks.
I love Leonard with all my heart but at this stage I'd be happy to never hear Hallelujah again.
This is a film by a French-Senegalese woman critiquing European sexual politics.
Okay, all pop stars are inherently fake to some extent, but some are a little more cynical than others. Of rather, their positioning by their label is more cynical. Lizzo is clearly very talented (her Tiny Desk Concert was amazing) but I dunno, there was something a bit Simon Cowell about the moment she had.
I’ve always thought there was something slightly off about Lizzo. I spent a lot of time that summer watching BB and pirating music off Napster. That glorious period between Y2K and 9/11 when it felt like the 21st century was going to be a thrilling cyberpunk adventure.
Big Brother season 1 in the UK. Nasty Nick, Anna the lesbian nun, watching primitive livestreams of people sleeping. Not being able to tweet about it. Good times.
Ben Kweller’s Ice Ice Baby is perhaps the best of the genre, partly because you don’t have to feel any guilt about the original being ruined.
In what way does this world resemble the pre-Cats world?
WILL THIS VERSION ALSO BE HAUNTED BY A LITTLE BOY WHO DIED ON THE SET?
Great link, thanks
