Yeah Ravi has really been embodying a lot of Nice Guy tropes this season hasn't he? I hope he fucking snaps out of it. I know this show needs a healthy dose of relationship drama, but i prefer when it derives from people not acting like giant douches.

I very much hope to do the same with my nephews when they are old enough

i wasn't here last week, but over the last two weeks I watched Dunkirk which was really great, but the dark haired british kids in the one plot all looked enough alike that I couldn't even tell which of them survived at the end. Also Nolan really hates water doesn't he?

Heaven Just Got a Little Bit Smoother:

I think that Verbal is pulling stuff from the board as a taunt. Pure invention doesn't have the same satisfaction as rubbing it in the guys face in this way. Plus I dont think he knew that the one guy on the boat hadnt yet died, so he didnt know a photo was coming through.

i love that whenever your nice and nephew come over you guys binge avatar or a related show

I agree, lets plan to watch that next week (iZombie), also i guess i agree on uhtred never not acting shady, it is his way

Or with Odda gone, will Uhtred now actually be trusted? Especially after saving Aethelflaed? Nah.

I kinda feel that Uhtred so frequently found forgiveness because he had Odda urging Alfred to forgive, while Odda did not have anybody doing the same (or at least no one who carried the same weight with Alfred).

I do agree that it would undermine Alfred's image if his daughter was paraded around and humiliated, but also there would be much less chance of unification even if they do beat back the ships and men Erik and Sigefried hire. And while I rarely if ever ascribe to the notion of worthwhile death, like Uhtred I typically

Hey sorry I am so late to respond.

Yeah and there is an offhand mention of "burhs" which is what Alfred called them in the last or second to last episode of the season

Still though Alfred is such a great character/figure its hard to replace.

I think i know how between what I read and what the second half of the season is about (hint its Alfred's kid, but not his heir)

So I think the book I read was the first one after Alfred had died, but also had a time jump. in the book I read he attacked Bebbanburg in a fit of rage, almost took it but fucked it up (did kill his uncle though). Also geez if the one I read was book 7, that means the show might kill off Alfred in the next season

Syttric is an odd character. I feel that the show knows it can't fill Leofric's shoes because no one else in the show's future can be perceived as Uhtred's better as a warrior, but also his friend. I think there can be friends again, or companions, or possibly even a mentee. Finan (I think?) the dark haired guy he

You are probably right that Uhtred is not religious, but I do think he believes in magic.

In that case, I'll continue to skip his, but maybe check those two out somewhere down the line.

See I really hate the first two Rincewind books (and haven't read anymore of his Rincewind because of that) because the humor is not good yet, and the bouncing around doesn't actually add anything, it just is an attempt to distract from how poor everything else is. Here there is a coherent story, and I do like Esk a

I have continued to read a lot Pratchett and Scalzi. I finished Men at Arms (great!) and Feet of Clay (pretty good!) and have decided to take a break from the Watch books because they are so good they tend to spoil me for other discworld offerings. I am currently reading Equal Rites which is very atypical Discworld
