no the bomb went off when Dan went down. I am surprised it didn't really come up either, but it seemed to be played off pretty quick.

I think that is actually a great thing about Joel's character that he handled everything so well until that particular hope was taken from him. shows that he is good at compartmenalizing and focusing at whats important as long as there is a step forward.

Joel getting institutionalized for trying to make an old Serbian woman vomit is the realest thing this show has done. Who hasn't been there?

Attention to Detail:

I finally got around to seeing Get Out and goddamn it was fantastic. Just a perfect marriage of usin the genre and the times to make you so damn unsettled. And it keeps you laughing right up until the moment you are supposed to stop. One of the best theater experiences I have ever had too.

Honestly I think this is a good compromise

haha well its called Dead Pilots Society, the Hodgman episode is the 2nd and the best, but the Fresco one is also really good. They also have great guest stars who read the main parts (like one had Aubrey Plaza as the main character)

Do you ever listen to the podcast Dead Pilots Society? It does table reads of failed pilots, and they had Victor fresco on recently and he talked about this show and making pilots in general before reading his pilot. (also the best episode had John Hodgman reading his pilot where it was about his 13 year old self that

I meant biggest get from BoT, obviously Drew is a coup and Tim is a pretty get great as well casting wise

Portia would be the big get from that show for sure

great point about Joel. This is as much a journey of discovery for him as it is for Sheila. He needs to find his true self just as she does.

Oh i didn't even consider that someone in their community is a secret zombie, but that makes so much sense. That I bet is the end of season reveal.

I totally agree about Dan and Rick. Dan is an asshole, something made clear from the first time we meet him, and so everything he sees about them is through his asshole lens. Whereas Rick actually seems like a good cop! shocker! So yeah Dan just wants to use them, but Rick would probably want to turn them in.

I totally agree that I wasn't sold on the pilot, what sold me was that container scene in the second episode. That was the show I came to watch. I like your observation that there is a sitcom version of the Americans, heck this probably applies to most major dramas, but yeah that digging scene following this week's

So Then A Bat Or Monkey:

Started watching Santa Clarita Diet to discuss with Scrawler (will do so below). Other than that quiet pop culture weekend. Still need to go see Get Out and Logan.

When you say it is set to return some time this year I assume you don't realize it has returned and is airing now

yeah later MI movies are way more action than the first one. the first one is just a thriller

he is starring in another show so probably unlikely, but then again the man works hard

they cast Jared Harris. Jared Harris is always fantastic and will be one of the leads in the upcoming adaptation of The Terror
