It was pretty generic, aye. The only things that really worked were many of the performances being absolutely fantastic, the effects and a clever and inventive climax that, after giving us the annoyingly-requisite action beat, had the big bad defeated through cunning and perseverance, not brute force.

Was I the only one that thought the original lacked vision?  Like the big magic stuff was an inception rip off and the smaller stuff was just shoulder shrug.  I thought guard Ian's and Ant-Man had more vision, and was actually worried that derrickson couldn't really visualize madness or a multiverse.

It sucks, sure. I enjoyed the first one. But the MCU had the uncanny ability to turn lemons into lemonade when directors get shuffled around.

Buddy, I think you and I said the same thing but your words were just fancier.

Totally agree with the tracking fobs. Greef had said that everyone had a fob for Baby Yoda, and I feel like the scene of them all turning on was meant to show The Client reactivating the bounty. And I also want to know how the fobs work.

Since at least this clan of Mandos keep their helmets on at all times in public,

This is exactly what I was thinking. Lucas had his reasons for making the Mandalorians pacifists, for whatever reason, but once Filoni was calling shots on his own he started this turn back to Traviss-Mandos in Rebels. So glad to see it continuing, especially into live action!

Yeah, I think Germain kind of glossed over the connection here. Our Mandalorian had the flashback to his childhood and how he was orphaned and didn’t want to let Baby Yoda be taken advantage of or hurt since he couldn’t protect himself, just like our Mandalorian when he was a child. Also he didn’t want him to be hurt

He should bring in that one actor he likes to work with. What’s his name? The guy who he cast as Happy, and the Chef, and the pediatrician in Elf. I like him.

I keep reading it in the spirit of “I’m so pretty” from west side story

Xmas Story, Season 2, Episode 8 only. John DiMaggio all episodes after.

And do it as a crossover with Futurama so we can get Robot Santa Claus (with original John Goodman voice) into the mix.

What about a retelling of A Christmas Carol, where the ghost of Kylo’s granddad appears and tells him he will be visited by three Force Ghosts...

Yep, that’s exactly why I think she should be in it in some capacity :-)

Creepy, Horny Wookiee Grandpa or GTFO!

Yes, yes we can. Favrau in the sizzle reel at Celebration talked about “working with all these wonderful voices” and they showed the directors of episodes. No one balked that some of these episodes are directed by men and women of color. Pedro talked about just getting to straight up be Clint Eastwood in Star Wars and

Thanks, and I appreciate your comment!

As someone with privilege, I don’t actually notice these things until it’s pointed out on the internet. Thankfully, this time, the first comment I read about it was yours being a positive reaction to noticing it, rather than the inevitable horrible ones that you tend to run across on other sites.
I also didn’t notice

It’s incredible that Jon Favreau is responsible for launching the MCU *and* live-action TV Star Wars. He really doesn’t get recognition equal to his success.

100%. First live action Star Wars series and strong out of the gate. Favreau should be given the job to jumpstart every series

One hour in and I’m all like just let Filoni and Favreau do all the Star War from now on.
