It’s still such a weird cognitive dissonance for me that the most famous show about an actual standup comic is so good, while Seinfeld himself is... blah. He’s okay. He’s like Standup 101. If he’s your first, he’s good. Then... not so much.
Amazingly she barely has a wikipedia page.
Oh, you’re of that generation, I guess. Thing is, for a lot of men, boobs are not special anymore. They don’t follow women just to stare at them for a 1 in 100 shot at sideboob or something. Sexual revolution marches on: sex and body are slowly, still very slowly becoming normalized, and people are slowly learning to…
As long as it doesn’t have one more “K”.
There’s something comforting about being able to remember Heath Ledger so fondly. He was (or seemed to be) just genuinely the nicest guy ever. I remember his death really hit home for me for some reason. At the time he was mostly the A Knight’s Tale guy, but... he was just the coolest in it. And then I saw The Dark…
Richard Kelly can be shortened to R. Kelly if one feels so inclined (I’m high and for a minute forgot his name is Robert).
Yes, this one was among the most pleasant movie surprises of that year.
That’s horrible. Poor kid.
Imagine seeing the word “prestigious” next to American Dad!’s title some fourteen years ago. That show’s truly done something Family Guy spectacularly failed to do - remain consistently fun so many years into its run, and is on par with The Simpsons on the amount of quality content it produced (maybe not as…
This fucking hurts. Adam was great. His contribution to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is, frankly, immeasurable, and Fountains of Wayne were just wonderfully upbeat and optimistic while, typically for Schlesinger, very witty.
To be fair, in their case it’s sort of the point. They all treat each other awfully while being stereotypes. The show strips the classic movie/TV tropes to their bones and show how dysfunctional a lot of them are. And Britta is treated terribly not because she’s a woman, but because of her character.
I used to love Scrubs. Just... love them. Now, not so much. Rewatched it couple years ago. It just didn’t age well at all, and it was the 2000's! Much as the show had been pushing for the acceptance of men with feelings, it still mercilessly mocked JD for being openly emotional, and yet somehow managed to put him in a…
Hope he pulls through. Music needs its genuinely funny people.
Good news. I really enjoyed the first season, even with the teen drama of it all.
Every generational tag is, first and foremost, a curse word when used by all the other generations. Such is our need to see otherness in people.
So, his covers albums are not considered “new music”? It’s old songs, sure, but those were brand new recordings.
Well, shit. I’ve mostly known him from Mozart in the Jungle, and he’s always been a very warm presence there. This crooked smile of his was always so enjoyable.
There’s a good chance a lot of his supporters are gonna fall victims to the virus, considering a lot of them are old and a lot of them are ignoring the danger because “fake news”, “owning the libs” and other bullshit.
Or it kills us. Whichever.
