The sadness though is that the feud was always entirely one sided. His grey matter people were totally willing to pay for Walt’s entire treatment but he turned them down. It was his ego. He tells his son eventually he spent decades obsessively watching the stock price.

It’s particularly great they establish that black and white is the present, and those tapes start with starkly bright colour in season 1. Each season adds more and more black and white to the tape footage.

I think it was also fitting how Saul remembers the worst parts of Walt. It's stark contrast to Jesse remembering a largely happy meeting with Walt in the ending of el camino. Saul has good reason to remember to worst of Walter. Jesse had his issues with Walter, but he also had a lot of good left in his memories.

It was beautiful how even when Walter got past the "time travel isn't scientific" rant, his one thing he wishes he could change was grey matter. That's just who Walter was in the end. A man hung up on one bad business decision decades ago.

One of the most underrated things about this show is those masterfully done opening titles steadily degrading in video quality each season. Because it symbolises the central theme of the series. A man constantly rewatching video tapes of his glory days, obsessed with that fake saul persona from the commercials, trying

Often the visual quality will be extremely lousy as well. Which is why I dismiss stupid batgirl feedback like "it looked like a bad tv show" when every movie looks like crap at first.

Because the entire purpose of testing is to create a movie that audiences will ultimately love and still reflect what the filmmakers want. So the primary objective of test screenings is to get audience feedback as soon as possible to start creating a final edit. Filmmakers are often burnt out and sick of the movie by

He seems like the kind of bastard that will run the IP into the ground several times over before he sells it. I could see him cutting the DC publishing side off though. That I could absolutely see. He'll never sell the IP.

Who would have seen that installing the man who runs discovery as the CEO would lead to mass chaos? No one could have predicted that.

I'm preparing myself the same way I did with Legends. It's going to be gutting if it happens, but I'm always going to be thankful it lasted so long.

That would make sense. Testing is a long process. Batgirl barely started. It's staggering the amount of idiots going "it tested badly, that's why they killed it". Usually a strict studio rough cut is the first version, before the filmmakers and studio work to refine it into a mutually beneficial cut before release,

Zaslav also fired the woman running the studio, is angling to shove out the Japanese man who runs dc films and stacked 6 new board seats entirely with middle aged white guys. It’s definitely a pattern.

Much like the final breaking bad episodes, it’s remarkable how bold this show is with absolutely destroying any shred of goodness left in the protagonist. The series completely changes breaking bad for the better. I never would have thought the lovable wacky lawyer had such dark pits in his soul. Anchoring the final

It got ridiculous on boardwalk empire in the first couple of seasons when Nucky had that live in escort girlfriend, who existed on the show solely so she could strip naked in every scene regardless of context.

To be fair, MGM was going through a financial crisis and that delayed hobbit by a year or so. Del toro was rightfully unwilling to hang around new Zealand away from his family for an indefinite time period, so that’s why he left hobbit. Presumably the project would have collapsed if Jackson hadn’t directed.

Zaslav seems like the kind of vindictive bastard who will grip onto the IP forever and limit it to the likes of Todd Philips before he sells it.

Reality TV is cheap and doesn’t require much effort. Whereas scripted content involves money and time and actually dealing with talented people. Zaslav doesn't give a shit about any of that. Zaslav is also the top dog of discovery, whereas he's a Hollywood novice. So making discovery the dominate streamer means he

I really enjoyed the first scoob. Killing the sequel is madness. Freaking Paul Dini was gutted.

Ed Harris has indicated season 5 will be the end. Unless they’ve greenlit it but not announced it, it’s unclear if that’s a plan or already a done deal. HBO tends to indulge their talent up to a point, and I can see HBO letting the show wrap up peacefully if it’s under their control.

I love James Gunn and I love DC, but I wouldn't mind if Gunn parted ways with them completely. Discovery is already running the company into the ground. They don't deserve Gunn.
