I really cannot recommend the book “The song of spider-man” highly enough.

I bet the current regime deeply regret that the earlier regimes built up his cult to begin with and set him to work on DC stuff. He never even made them a lot of money, so it's been like a total wash really.

I must admit though, the idea of Snyder tackling Ayn Rand sounds like a spectacular trainwreck. I would happily pay for that, though I want be mainly laughing at all the slow mo sex scenes he'd score to Leonard Cohen.

It very much felt like a pitch that sounded interesting and then no one actually fleshed it out so then it just kind of sat there without any real form.

Because that would require a degree of creativity, and then Snyder wouldn’t have a ready made series of comics to draw on, as well as lacking a built in rabid fanbase.

His deadwood movie was awesome though. Deadwood as a whole gets him a lifetime pass. Luck had some really great stuff as well.

Yes, but remember that Ginsberg was eventually hauled out on a stretcher screaming incoherently after slicing off his nipple because he thought the computer was turning him into a homosexual. That seems a lot like the typical Snyder fan who wastes any part of their life hating a movie producer.

Plus he gets money from all those upcoming token EP credits on other movies made by better filmmakers. So he’s doing fine. Even with his damn zombie movie coming he still plays the pitiful victim.

If he was in the movie, it would have been about 30 seconds of material. It was irresponsible of Snyder to cast a guy well past the end point in a character he never got permission to use. Not to mention how Snyder was knowingly shooting cliffhanger material for sequels he was endlessly told by the studio weren’t

Snyder loves to play the world’s smallest violin, because he knows full well the more he becomes a victim the angrier and louder his cult could be.

Who would have thought that a man who spent a decade making a show about a talentless idiot who fails his way up the ladder of success could be so utterly clueless and idiotic?

Freaking David Milch has had pilots passed over by HBO. It happens. Milch on his worst day is light years more talented than Doug Ellin could ever dream of being.

One of my favourite Oscar moments in recent memory is the look of cold murderous rage Close initially has when Olivia Colman beat her, only to be replaced by Close being seemingly touched to the heart by Colman apologizing for winning best actress over her and admitting even Colman was so dead sure it was Close's

Mulligan just commands the screen in promising young woman. As good as Frances Mcdormand is, it would be a travesty if she won for nomadland, particularly since she just won for Three billboards a couple of years ago.

Promising young woman is an absolute blast. By far the most purely entertaining of the best picture nominees.

It’s the kind of movie that really does scream “academy award contender”. A court room drama. Period setting. An all-star cast. A comedian playing against type for a drama. A setting far enough back that we can feel safe. A big name actor chewing the scenery (I did really enjoy Frank Langella though). Lots of soaring

Watching it today, The Father really was a beautiful and devastating movie, anchored by an incredible cast. I knew nothing about it beforehand but the way it slowly drew me into the web of crazy moments of the ravages of age done through such hauntingly subtle ways was remarkable.

I'm a massive fan of RKO 281. John Malchovich was perfectly cast. My love for that film, as well as Citizen Kane and the whole story of the production was why I was so excited and ultimately so letdown by Mank.

I watched Mank recently and was surprisingly disappointed by it. I admired it on a technical level but found it so dull and pointless on every other level. The making of citizen Kane is such a rich story, yet Fincher just told the most boring angle possible.
