i did the trip from silverton to animas forks in a ‘94 chrysler LHS. got some bewildered looks from the jeep bros.
completely agreed. that said, given the overall condition of this car and reasonable ask, it’s the kind of car that i’d take to a trusted indie shop and get them to quote me on the “mechanically perfect” job list...and then figure out how much i would actually DIY.
my BMW M2 comp fits car seats, so i would imagine you’ll have no problems fitting small humans in cars seats back there.
since i’m a bimmer apologist and fanboi, i’ll add them to the conversation with E46 M3 >> E36 M3.
great questions!
yep...carolinas for sure. we always do a make-your-own-pizza-night on our family beach vacations, and have found don pepino’s on OBX.
came for the don pepino. it’s usually available in most every grocery store i’ve need it to be available. was originally recommended to me by my wife’s “uncle paulie” who had a regular table reserved 3 nights a week at sabatino’s in baltimore. that was the only rec i needed...and have now been using is for almost 30…
this 100%. i worked with a guy who was and athletic-build 6'7" — always got the “where’d you play basketball question wherever he went -- and he daily drove a mini.
but the cartel can murder one of them...
this situation applies on the DC beltway as well. although sometime it’s the middle right, not far right lane, that moves the fastest since there’s not as much interference from exit / on-ramp lanes.
yeah...i’m an i8 fan, and definitely keep looking and hoping / expecting them to drop below $40K...although even then i’m not sure they’d working for my 100-mile round-trip commute.
i was going with a bimmer recommendation as well, but i’m not sure his depreciation concerns match the i8 recommendation? even one that’s $50-60K now?
you bring up rule #9: true friends will never ask for a comp — especially if you’re just starting out.
the odd exception for me is bleu cheese. i truly love a bacon-bleu burger, and it’s absolutely improved with a little bit of ketchup.
ha!
down-voted for lack of L337
i’m with you on this one. a family in my growing-up neighborhood had one of these, and 10-year-old me thought this thing was pretty sweet, and sort of fit the theme of rednecky hot rods that duke of hazzard and smokey and the bandit made so popular during this time.
i’ve not read the book either, but i’ve come to the same conclusions about shape-shifting and neck-rash henchmen.
