I think the issue is that with a debit card they can take all your money, meanwhile with a credit card they’ll take the banks money. Also I believe the banks care more about their own cash over yours so they’re more willing to stop the transactions and all that jazz

USAA was great about reversing the charges, but it was still a few days before that money was back in there and conveniently was the next day was the first

When you run your card as a “credit”, it has the same protections / fraud detection as a credit card.

If you are using your card as a debit card, why not get a credit card with a good point system.  Then set up auto payments to pay the balance every month.  That way you get points without paying any interest.  It’s like getting an interest free 30 day loan, plus free stuff from amazon/rei/United Airlines etc.  In
