My 2010 328i and 2011 X5 have them even though they are both HID/Xenon lamps. They also turn on the corresponding foglight to help create an even wider beam.

Depends on the PSI, tip, and distance used from the surface. I’ve been using an electrice pressure washed on my cars for about 15 years now. No issues. Here’s what I have now:
I use a soft Meguiar’s wash brush since those rinse clean, unlike sponges. There’s a reason why we have toothbrushes and not “toothsponges”.
Depends on the quality of the paint job. My 2006 Civic needed regular waxing or it would fade.
