“the 9:30 a.m. Eastern start time, plus the matchup itself, didn’t allow for the biggest potential audience in the U.S.”

Lucas is constantly claiming it was all planned, but that doesn’t hold up. His early drafts about Luke Starkiller were much less focused on Vader, and often had multiple sabre-wielding bad guys (also seen in early concept art).

there was also the 2009 world series, where an illegally positioned FOX camera turned a yankee fly ball into a “home run”, due to the umpires not being versed on baseball rules about cameras

The funny thing is, before the massive explosion of WWII games in the early 2000s, the Garand was often thought of as a bad video game gun. In most WWII games, people went for the Thompson or BAR.

I’d need to see the sail plan before fully passing judgement, but that thing’s a steaming pile of nope. It looks like a rejected 3d model from A Princess John Carter of Mars or Jupiter Ascending. I’d much prefer a ship like Athena:

who owns it is a lot less important than who makes it. If a brewery gets bought, and nothing changes, or they invest in a larger brewery to make just that beer, that’s fine. Plenty of Inbev labels are legit local breweries that got to expand their footprint thanks to a huge cash bump.

awesome to see homebrew stuff like this, but I’d really like to see some of the new wave of space combat games (Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen, No Man’s Sky, etc...) get on board with companies like Saitek/MadCatz to adapt things for space combat like the BIP:

my brother had a 1800es for a few years. Unfortunately he couldn’t take it to college and it fell into disrepair

any word on differences between versions? I have a 360 and a PS3, is it worth holding out and getting this along with an Xbone or PS4 on black friday?

It doesn’t necessarily take away the buzzer beater. I’ve seen plenty of soccer games where the attacking team is pressing like crazy, because not only do they need the goal, but if they give up possession, the whistle will blow.

gotta disagree on the best bench ranking.

And then in their late 50s it catches up with them real fast, and by their 60s they look like a mummy.

I think that’s where Rowe is very right. My problem is that he tries to link that to the troubles manufacturers in states like Alabama and Arkansas have attracting workers. But he never gets into the pay situation. Damn straight, if I can pick up odd jobs and make $150 a day, I’m not going to drop that to work at some

Part of the problem is that he’s NOT saying it. He highlights the high demand for skilled trades around the country, but a big part of the regional shortages comes from how much higher those wages can be elsewhere, especially in the northeast.

I’m not really sure how I feel about Mike Rowe anymore. On the one hand, I completely agree with him highlighting the fact that the world needs plumbers and electricians and welders and eleventy thousand other jobs that mostly work with their hands. And he’s right that we need to get past this idea that everyone needs

Tell Mike that if he finds himself needing a magnifying glass frequently, a credit card sized fresnel lens is a great option.

Exactly. Summer is 3 months of hell with only one saving grace, that it’s warm enough to go swimming. Literally everything else you associate with summer is better in spring and autumn. The only saving grace is being warm enough to swim.

Then there’s the part where they dance on the road mound while an opposing player has just suffered a potentially career-ending injury and remains on the field of play.

I had that CH products joystick. It was excellent for Mechwarrior 2, TIE Fighter, and 1942: The Pacific Air War.

An estate lawyer in the late Father in law’s home state should be familiar with disposing of guns. Odds are they can be auctioned relatively easily, as spousal and parental inheritance is a frequent exception to transfer and registration laws
