i dunno, while i'll continue to mock her about her comments on the Great Wall being completely wrong, it's not about her but rather just about her take on that one thing(same for Sharon Stone's completely idiotic karma statement). on her comments against Casey Affleck, i won't make any assumptions since i know very…
don't they call it General Tso over there? =P
and unfortunately this is where Matt Damon comes in for The Great Wall. it seems his purpose of satisfying the people running Anglophone cinema chains worked out well.
oh the whole, perhaps, but not as a comparison to the original, nor to the credit of the director or writer. it's a lot of lazy in one package. although i'd love to watch someone more interested in the source material, or at least come up with an original tale about Boston that isn't a talking bear.
i do hope he's alright as i've been a big fan of his since his graduation from TVB actor school in Hong Kong in the late 70's and early 80's along with Tony Leung and a handful of others who were dubbed The 5 tigers of TVB. the various old Louis Cha serials they starred in were the pinnacle of TVB shows.

William Monahan had no clue when he tried to adapt the original, and it ended up a generic western gangster film with zero substance and if not for the calibre of actors involved, zero charisma as well. it's a pretty flat little pastiche of Scorsese's previous works, and even reusing some of the music. it's no…

as is Bollywood.
because South Park. =)
Zhang Yimou mostly do live productions now. google Impression Liu Sanjie or Impression West Lake(there's a few others). i've been to those two and they're really good live performances.
nope.
weird, never heard of it before. even Chinese vampires(jiangshi) don't hop around in a straight line though. i wonder where this came from?
she only thinks that Chinese movies should hire Asian Americans because they're a minority…. in China. well, so is Matt Damon in China.
do Mongolians in the movie actually become reptile monsters or are you just talking about the plot replacing one for the other as the reason for building the Great Wall?
hey, me too. i use Apple only because i know i can use it to hack alien spaceship shields.
also, American phone booths are time machines and Genghis Khan loves skateboards.
yes, any mention of these "lesser" distinctions are viewed upon as a crutch even if it's just talking about the subject. people will often think of it as a way to get out of future responsibilities.
i do wish the environment on the subject is more safe and open to allow people to talk about it without being mocked for using it(and other distinctions i mentioned previously) as an excuse when it's not.
