I’m never rude to a stylist, but I’m honestly not a talker in person, and if a stylist picks up on that, they’re going to have repeat business and a huge tip.
And that is why I didn’t post an image of it. I figured the comment I left was enough and leave to any one who wanted to know more to look it up. For once I didn’t disagree with Kim for this cause. Just not sure being a prop for a photo op was worth it (although if he does pardon the lady I would guess it was).
I can’t fault anyone for what they believe
“I can’t fault anyone for what they believe”
So, her statement translates to “Shit. He’s the guy who won, and I can’t say anything bad about the dude who I’m supposed to live happily ever after with. At least until the show is over.”
Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion BUT FACTS ARE NOT OPINIONS.

If you want a major change to your hairstyle, or you have super thick or long hair, make sure you know what you’re getting into.
What IS Pusha T’s point here? IS his whole thing that Drake isn’t black enough? Cos that seems a LOT like colourism and it seems a LOT like he’s trying to make hay out of Drake being mixed race. He certainly doesn’t seem to be well informed enough about Drake to be saying anything about whether or not he is ‘silent on…
First, his son is personal and celebrities still to this day don’t owe us an explanation for keeping their loved ones/relationships private. Second, how is context irrelevant here? Artistic expression/social commentary vs. literal blackface performance.. context absolutely matters. Plus, considering how many times…
This seems like it’s merely controversial because Pusha T presented it that way. It just doesn’t seem wild to me. A black man wore blackface as social commentary. I think crazier ideas have been executed just in 2017 alone for the sake of art with less attention than this. This is another one of those non-news type…
Lighter-skinned Black people don’t “qualify” as Black? Is there some kind of reverse paper-bag test that I’m unaware of?
A-MEN.
100% agreed. As a white person, I think it is sad that the focus is still on the photo and not the explanation of what it is meant to highlight. I realise that it makes white people extremely uncomfortable to have to actually contemplate and address the fact that Drake is arguing that the still prevalent stereotyping…
...why he would dare to take the chance of appearing in blackface.
Perhaps someone can educate me...Drake is Afro-Canadian from my understanding and, as an Afro-Canadian, used blackface to make an artistic and political point. In what way is that “bad,” such that he “dare[d] to take the chance of appearing in blackface”? I’m at a loss.
“dare to take the chance of appearing in blackface”... Drake’s been melanated his whole life. He ain’t appropriating shit, just taking it back. Struggling to understand the “Drake’s raciss” takes all over the place.
