You know it!

I mean, I thought it was pretty clear from my comment that that’s what I do.

It honestly never occurred to me that it could be a hat. He’s a mushroom person, so obviously he has a mushroom head...I thought that was pretty clear the first time he told me the princess was in another castle, and I never thought about it since then.

I don’t know, I kind of agree with him. I feel like a lot of modern blockbusters don’t respect the audience’s time, and the post-credits bit is probably the epitome of that trend. These movies are already pushing up on runtimes that people only used to tolerate for Goodfellas-caliber material, and then they want you

I beat Super Mario World for the first time in at least a decade, and if you haven’t played it in a long time, it’s even better than you think you remember. I thought maybe I was remembering it through the lens of nostalgia, but even on this 100% playthrough, there was never a moment where the quality dipped below

Yeah, I imagine they’ll want to Doctor the final cut before it goes out into the World.

“Potatoes suck” just might be the fanciest sentence ever uttered. I’d love to know what kind of lavish Marie Antoinette existence you lead where you can just go around saying “potatoes suck” like it’s nothing.

I finally finished Alien: Isolation. I made a few comments about this game last week, so rather than repeat myself, I’ll just say this: I got past the first enemy encounter by lighting a flare and throwing it across the room to create a distraction, and I got past the last enemy encounter by lighting a flare and

I mean, it’s possible that he did some really inappropriate stuff at one point in his life, suffered consequences as a result, and then never did anything like that again.

The band who performed it, Polaris, was essentially a side project of the great Miracle Legion frontman Mark Mulcahy that existed solely to write the songs for Pete and Pete. Not only did they do the theme song, but pretty much all the incidental music on the show (they were also the band Little Pete saw playing in a

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Kind of feel like that headline should be reworded, it seems almost deliberately phrased to give someone the wrong idea.

Now playing

This is probably the closest I’ll ever get to a relevant moment to post this, so whatever.

I never really understood why the Resident Evil movie needed the Resident Evil license. Other than a couple of proper nouns and the general presence of zombies, it has nothing in common with the games (especially the ones that had been released up to that point) in terms of story, tone, or theme. If you changed a few

Games don’t have to be fun, per se, but they do have to be mechanically engaging. A prime example is Hotline Miami, a hypnotically violent game that feels like a 16-bit adaptation of Taxi Driver if that film had been jointly directed by David Lynch and Takashi Miike. You’d be hard pressed to call it a fun experience

Very good! It’s a turned-based strategy game in the vein of XCOM or Fire Emblem, but focused on stealth rather than combat. You control a small team of spies who have to break into high-tech corporations and steal their stuff. Highly recommended if you have any interest whatsoever in strategy and/or stealth games.

I actually haven’t played Tropical Freeze (will 100% be buying it on the Switch), but I really loved Donkey Kong Country Returns. I also think Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, and VVVVVV deserve credit as all-time great platformers from the modern era.

I was really, really happy with how well Secret of Mana holds up. That used to be one of my favorite games as a kid, but I never beat it despite starting a ton of new games and getting very close to the end as least once.

I think I actually may have bought it based on a post you made about it a long time ago. It’s so good! It’s rare to find a game that relies on procedural generation yet feels so tightly designed from moment to moment. Spelunky, Nuclear Throne, and The Binding of Isaac come to mind, but those are all fast-moving action

It’s not bank heists exactly, but have you played Invisible, Inc.?

Do those people vacation in these places? I need answers to this.
