...and here you are, continuing to dig yourself into a hole.
My family got an SNES Classic for Christmas, and the other day my nearly three year-old daughter played Super Mario World for the first time. She loves making Mario move, and she calls “Yoshi!” when the egg pops up. I cried, because we were sharing something I’ve loved my whole life, and for those brief moments we…
Dude, you’re pretty naive if you think that the amount of clothing has any effect on whether someone gets harassed or not. It’s just a power-play. See a woman with some kind of success in Twitch, reduce her to a sexual object to be judged with one breath and call her a whore ruining the platform with the next. She…
Why is it not solvable? Yes if the problem is that assholes exist, it’s not solvable. However in this particular case I think the service (Twitch) could take a stand and ban streamers who harass others. Even if they make money; I’m pretty sure they would ban someone using nazi rhetorics or saying openly racist things…
The problem are the men (and boys).
The fact that you don’t see what’s wrong with that statement is a sad, sad thing.

When will men stop ruining everything
Had it happen to me once while I was streaming Counterstrike for several friends. Just me sitting there in my t-shirt with no makeup, and all of a sudden there’s a spike in my viewer count and a deluge of comments that were... well, you can imagine what it was like.
So they deserve sexist comments when they stream basically nude? Do they? Do they really?
...said just about every sexual predator in the history of the world. “She showed her ankles, so she was simply asking for it”.
That’s not true in the least. It very well can become harassment.
Always gets me how these guys could develop this type of borderline sexual predator/rapist mindset and not get called out on it more. A lot of their justifications for their behavior is straight out of the convicted rapist handbook.
Are you ok?
Shit like this makes me feel like the only way I could ever stand to stream on twitch is wearing basically a blanket over my face and body. maybe some voice disguising software.
This article is very clearly not trying to say that no women use sex to draw in viewers, as evidenced by the last paragraph in which they talk to a streamer who blatantly and openly admits to doing so. The point of the article is that people assume that this is the ONLY business model that any woman who streams, ever,…
