Back in 2011 someone created “bookmarklet” (i.e. a long piece of javascript you could copy and paste into a bookmark) that you could run on your browser to get a similar experience. This one is a little fancier as there is a 3D rendered ball and the shadows of all the objects are now rendered as well.

This seems like a bad idea. The earth is relatively stable because it regulates the amount of energy added and lost through the atmosphere. If we circumvent the atmosphere and directly inject more energy from space, that will result in further increased global temperatures.

True about Toyota using non-solid state batteries for years. So he was an early adopter of EVs and when the Prius came out, he got one. Back when they looked like Nissan Sentras and were tiny.

None of those cars are exactly what anyone would call older cars.

We owned a Chevy Volt and its battery conked out at the 10 year, 155,000 mark.

The problem is that battery tech is not there yet. On average an EV owner is lucky to get maybe 10-12 years before the battery degrades enough to where it needs replacement.

I agree US vs Colorado wasn’t a great analogy... but “Ukraine is the second largest nation in Europe” is also misleading because that in geographic area... population-wise it it seventh. Having a larger border area with a much smaller army actually makes it harder to defend an invasion.
