Yes! They’re flying hamsters who eat mosquitoes — what could be cuter? Everyone I tell I bought a bat house basically acts like I’m a Halloween enthusiast run amok. But I, personally, am the mosquito’s #1 favorite food source, and I want kids in the next couple of years, so I need the bats to start roosting by then.

My zika prevention strategy is to buy a bat house. We’re totally going to put one up on the back yard this summer. Those little effers eat a ton of mosquitoes.

As someone who is right on the cusp of actively trying to get pregnant, I have no idea what to do about the Zika epidemic. I live in the part of the US likely to have Zika exposure this summer (and, bonus!, mosquitos love me). But like, do I wait? If so, how long? Do I get tested for Zika? Should I worry about travel…

And if anyone comes on saying that gun laws don’t work cos of this they can kindly go fuck themselves.
