Yea and we have this problem in Atlanta. Like you say there’s plenty of 13 and 14 year olds on powerful bikes with no helmets weaving in and out of traffic. It’s not a protest, it’s just irresponsible dangerous stupidity. Hell, I’ve driven 37 years without having an accident that was my fault and I don’t like driving

A while back there was an incident in Baltimore where they were biking recklessly, one of them hit (or got hit by) a car, and then the other bikers beat the driver when he got out of his car to helped the downed biker.

so basically if people don’t agree with you and have numerous factual points to call a “writer” out on her pure stupidity, you make them the racist ones. Got it.

As a Baltimore resident I challenge you to lay a concrete connection to these riders and anything positive. It seems you’re trying to make something less of a priority for law enforcement without a great deal of evidence that supports you. As someone who regularly biked through Baltimore City parks often, I’ve been

Fun side note... On the news the other day, they reproted that the bike involved in the chase where the kid got hit by the cop car was reported stolen in St. Louis. So that $2,000 machine is not always their own, makes it much easier to dump and run from it during a chase.

Numerous friends of mine have had their dirt bikes stolen by the same people you are calling heroes. Few, if any, of these dirt bike riders have the income to purchase a dirt bike. They steal the bikes, break the law by riding them in the city, and are being treated as vigilante heroes. This article is beyond biased

Sorry. Your narrative is wrong. They’re cracking down because they’re rightfully illegal and a pretty big public danger and nuisance. This isn’t another case of racist policing. It’s an issue here in DC, too. The crackdown is a good thing, not a bad one. Douchebag teens being douchebag teens and causing problems in

I almost t-boned a dirt-biker because he was driving super fast down the opposite of a one way (meaning I was not looking in that direction because, it's a one-way) right next to Hopkins Hospital. Everytime I see those bikers I get scared not for my life, but in the off chance I hit one while driving.

I'm sure she felt just like Abraham Lincoln after she wrote this.

To: Caitlin

serious question Caitlin- if the guns are being put down, why is the murder rate so high in Baltimore? Or are you suggesting these riders are a sea of calm amidst the violence?

I assume she was white - probably a cop or married to a cop so in Gawker-speak, totally had it coming to her. I believe it was Paul Robeson who said “the best way to fight the capitalist society is to break laws on your unlicensed motorcycle while not wearing a helmet.”

I pretty sure the crack down is more to do with the fact that they fucking killed someone.

Really? Is it just broken windows policing when they are putting innocent pedestrians, people’s personal property and public property at risk?

I’m so sick of white college girls explaining black life to the rest of us.

Caitlin knows what its like to be Black.

You know how we squash the beef? By not stealing and killing each other anymore.

I am not old and I get it. This article is just ridiculous.

Wow what a dangerous stupid activity to do. I’d hate to get caught in the path of a hooligan showing off for his friends. I hope the city can crack down on this.

Yes BC in keeping with the Gawker narrative they are an all white racist paramilitary force actively killing black bodies. Not law enforcement.
