A comic book? With alternate futures and/or realities?
I’m the same.
I'd watch that one
Furiosa?
That must have been a difficult time for you, and I'm sorry you had to go through it
If only avclub covered media other than current film
Listen, I hate modern day Jerry as much as the next huge Seinfeld fan, but he’s kind of right. I no longer have a clue what’s in theaters. I barely watch new movies. The only people I know who do also watch a lot of CBS.
My wife missed the 80s, so every other month or so I pick a classic to revisit for me as I introduce her to it.
“Both sides" cry the people with nothing to lose
This guy is as boring as Black Adam. And is as pointless as Cruise. And as bland as San Andreas. And as needlessly dull as Hobbes and Someone.
He was definitely noteworthy in Gen V.
My wife wanted to stop after one.
I watched half this, hopeful. The 4 episodes I watched were, well, boring. There was no sense of place, the characters weren’t interacting, and for some reason there was some background intrigue that didn’t seem interesting.
The only thing I remember him from is Pacific Rim, which was a bad movie he something managed to be the worst part of by a gap so large a Kaiju could sneak through it
This really rubbed me the wrong way. Too many call backs. Too much “hey, remember this?! It’s back!”
My wife and I loved it because it felt like a throwback. A quiet movie driven not by what happens but how the characters interact and react.
Frisco opens with the character going on a rant about being stuck in a rut. He’s basically saying the motivation out loud at the start, without the journey, and just stating his feelings instead of the audience discovering him
The first season is flawless TV, and Smart is absolutely phenomenal.
I’m just exceptionally tired of intellectual cowards thinking no one has to be responsible for their words if they say it’s a joke.
