The strikes are against the AMPTP and productions with SAG and/or WGA contracts. Critical Role the company isn’t a member of AMPTP, and the actual play show isn’t produced under SAG contract because the primary cast are all co-owners and equity partners of the company (and not under WGA contract because it’s not,

It is a damned shame that Lucasfilm drags their feet making KOTOR screen content.  BioWare told better Star Wars stories than they did for the most part.  I know a KOTOR film has been teased and toyed at but, really, it needs to happen.

My bad, was imprecise.  Suggesting you skip the SNW episode that is a crossover with Lower Decks (voice actors appearing live as their characters)

there’s a lower decks crossover episode coming up in a couple weeks.

SNW is doing an upcoming crossover episode with lower decks, where lower deck characters “hilariously” appear in SNW as real people

yeah, i’m sorry, and i know i’m gonna get crucified for this, but SNW this season just is not doing it for me. i’ve never liked—or more importantly, i’ve never bought—Ethan Peck as Spock less than in this episode. his hijinx came off so tryhard; it felt like it was normal Spock trying to act like all-human-Spock, and

Every industry needs to strike. A total work stoppage until we get universal healthcare and at least a federal $15 minimum wage.

Two things:

My fiance and I liked Dial of Destiny a lot more than we expected, and I even purposely spoiled the ‘twist’ before going in and still enjoyed it.

It’s the only movie with a) no IMF traitor and b) truly felt like an ensemble story instead of Ethan Hunt and his amazing friends.

Well agree to disagree then.

I’m shocked that the actual demons on that show, Tony and Steve, didn’t make this list. Appalled, actually.

The argument made is that casting for roles that do not have cultural trappings should not be forced to keep the ethnicity presented in prior source material purely because that was the ethnicity originally presented.

Another side of the problem is that we don’t know how the AI in question was trained - usually they take in a lot of human-created art in order to be able to function at all and most of that is dubiously obtained. So while I get what you’re saying that “it’s ok because they wanted that AI look, it’s silly to pay

Right - if the creator looks at it and says “I think that I can creatively and effectively adapt this thing to a new medium”, that’s one thing, but so often these decisions are being led by business executives that just decide to do it based on making money and then they try and find someone who will do it for them.

It is hard to get around the fact that BvS was entirely his baby and had 3 of the most recognizable characters in all of western fiction, not just comics, in it and nearly got beaten by Deadpool, a character who at the time had virtually NO name recogniton by normal movie goers, and in fact BvS got beaten by DP

This is made more complicated by the fact that James Gunn has never made a movie as successful as Aquaman”.

Hollywood loves a sure thing. Existing IP means IP that some percentage of the populace has already shelled out money to buy before.

Disney keeps doing pointless live-action remakes of their animated catalog when they have they have the Muppets just sitting there. They could be doing Muppet remakes of both animated and live action films - Muppet Snow White, Muppet Pirates of the Caribbean, Muppet Beauty & The Beast...

TThe thing is how many episodes of Bluey have been blocked or censored in the US?
