This is a very optimistic view of our justice system, a view that is not shared by a lot of the people protesting or supporting the protests.

You’re wrong on both the politics and the morality of this situation.
I mean, the reality is that most of them don’t actually care about profanity, or at least not that much. If their favorite celebrity, sports person, or politician swore in a context that aligned with their interests, you wouldn’t hear a word out of them. But when it’s someone that they don’t like (especially someone…
I feel like I’m becoming an old man, because while I appreciate better graphics, I find that I’d be perfectly happy with, say, Xbox 360 levels of graphics, but with cheaper games or more convenient play options, like portable systems, etc.
I didn’t hate the countryside portions of the Ezio games, but that was probably mostly due to the fact that they were a smaller portion of the game, while most of the game was running over rooftops. You’re right that I’m not really interested in the opposite: a big open, mostly natural world with a few smaller…
I liked in AC2 when you had a town that was your base and you would go back there to upgrade some things or buy up some stores. It wasn’t onerous, but it gave you a feeling like all the money you were looting from guards was going towards building something substantial.
See, I tried Origins a while back and completely bounced off of it. It didn’t feel like the parkour simulator with low key exploration and city management that I loved in the Ezio games. I also started a game of Assassin’s Creed 2 and it has some rust around the edges, but I’d still be much more interested in a…
Yeah, I liked traipsing around bustling and interesting towns, working my way through killing some important people, buying up shops, and eventually owning the town. It was basically a parkour game with some city management, some sneaking, and a bit of fighting (I was happy to parry my way through most fighting). And…
The Ezio games were maybe my favorite franchise of the Xbox 360/PS3 era, and then with Assassin’s Creed 3, my interest for the franchise died a quick death. For me, the charm of the franchise was being able to virtually visit these big, sprawling cities and run around from rooftop to rooftop, and over the course of…
Mario Kart is one of those games that defines my age for me. I had a Super Nintendo when it came out, and I was a devoted Nintendo Power reader. I mastered those races in ways that only kids with tons of time can. Then, as I moved into high school, I transitioned to PC games. I never got an N64, so I missed that game…
The fact that Nintendo did it doesn’t make it good. Indeed the NES controller is famously uncomfortable. And looking at the SNES controller now, I disagree that the d-pad actually is positioned to require horizontal positioning of your left thumb. I haven’t held one in a long time, but you can definitely see how if…

For me, all of my friends for the last couple generations have had Xboxes, so that’s what I’ve had. I’m not going to own three different consoles, given how little time I have to game anymore, so the fact that Sony keeps making controllers that I hate doesn’t do much to convince me to try to get my friends to switch.
Yes, people’s hands are symmetrical, but how they use those hands while playing video games tends to not be symmetrical.
As someone that’s never liked a single dual shock controller, the shape looks more comfortable, but the sticks are still in that symmetrical placement that virtually guarantees that I won’t use it.
The MGS games never really appealed to me, either from a gameplay standpoint or their particular style of storytelling. But this was a great piece, and I very much enjoyed its insights. Good job!
Oh, I thought that we were doing a Thrilling Adventure Hour thing. Didn’t realize that it was a Sealab thing.
I don’t know about you people, but I’m..............from Earth.
Gotham City Chronicles is definitely the one I was thinking of. So this game is different from that one? I didn’t read great things about GCC, or at least nothing that enticed me to pick it up. Mostly, I just don’t care about games where you move miniatures around to slug it out, but I’m more interested in games where…
This seems very familiar. Is this basically a reskin of the Batman miniatures game that came out a year or two ago? It sounds extremely similar. Unfortunately, that game seemed like a pretty generic miniature combat game, and that’s not really my jam most of the time, especially since the price of entry is so…
