Right, but it’s not one story. I don’t think Bezos is personally killing or ordering stories. But I do think it's likely that the people who do assign and kill stories know where their bread is buttered.

I tend to trust their reporting. But the paper as a whole has been caught passing off Amazon press releases as stories. Which is more plausible, that Bezos just bought it as a toy to ignore or that he has some influence (even indirect)?

Aside from Kessler, there was also a point during the 2016 campaign where they literally ran 16 negative Sanders stories in 16 hours. For some reason they don't like him on an institutional level.

It’s like when people talk about midwesterners, working folk, or god. They just happen to agree with whatever the speaker believes. 

There’s an easy solution: out rules lawyer them. They can have flags supporting sports teams. The flag supports the Puerto Rican national team. It’s not her fault their colonial status lets them form their own national team.

Also, a simple solution is just call it the flag of the Puerto Rican national team.  

It does mean you could fly the flag of the Puerto Rican national team. Or just one supporting them.

The whole NFL kneeling thing came about because Kaep consulted with a veteran to try and figure out how to respectfully protest. People only care about soldiers and vets in an inchoate way that pretends they’re all one group and coincidentally agree with everything the speaker also believes.

Sachin wouldn’t make the list. He’s huge but only among a few countries. Yes those are huge countries, but not big enough to ought weigh the relative anonymity in the rest of the world. For example, there’s no way he’s out polling Mao. Sun Yang might also out poll him.
