YESSSSS. Smartwool socks are the best! And fleece-lined tights and leggings are a godsend (FYI PEEPS: Nordstrom Rack is selling nice ones for $7 right now, but not online as far as I can tell). Fleece tights also work super well as a layer under pants. You also can't go wrong with actual long underwear.
