That was my take as well. Especially the use of the word “invoke”, like “Kid, this is waaaaaay below her pay-grade.”

I absolutely adored the blatant clues about Fury and Hill with the slightly off performance and when Peter was listing off Avengers and got to “Captain Marvel?” then Fury said “Do not invoke her name.” or something like that. I was thinking at the time, “Huh, I didn’t think Fury was *that* much of a fanboy.” and then

May is his Aunt and he knows and trusts her completely. There is nothing in the situation of her bringing him a healthy snack to set it off.

My kid and I literally yelped when we saw him. (Sorry other movie patrons, we’re usually far more polite. It’s just awesome to see the perfect JJJ casting back.)

“Nice” people don’t commit sexual assault.

Alternate theory, he has swollen lymph nodes under his armpits or is smuggling in apples so he has a snack for later.

Paid maternity leave so mum doesn't have to pump?

I suspect that it’s also useful because if you get itchy, you can get in a surreptitious scratch while you’re “drying your hands.”

Echos of “You have no power over me.” ;)

I believe the phrase you’re looking for is, “It’s just a show, I should really just relax...”

There’s kind of a different energy between a guy who copes with loss by drinking, binging and playing Fortnite for 5 years and a dude who’s been on a murderous rampage through the criminal underworld for 5 years...unless the guy is Deadpool, but he would probably just do both at the same time.

What you have here is a case of empathy fatigue. Even when you care about someone, watching them willfully self-destruct can become very, very tiring. You lose patience even when you are aware of why they are being the way they are.

I think if they’re going to charge women, no exceptions, then they should do DNA tests on all stillborn and aborted fetuses and charge the male parent equally, no exceptions.

I mean if they want women under 100% control of their menfolk, then the men are the ones to be held accountable for “their” women, right?  /s

It’s pretty good if you consider that Narnia appears to be a parasite universe that runs on the life force/ belief of the humans it catches from our world.

I feel the same, I read the whole trilogy once, but I never connected with the characters. There were some OK ideas, but I didn’t, and still don’t, get the hype.

I am probably not going to watch this thing ever. I grew up in an agricultural town and have known many people working farms ranging from conventional to organic to “bio-dynamic”. The preview’s “Golly-gee-willikers, we’re doing something new.” and then going on to showing the most *basic* challenges of farming as if

If you want a world full of weirdness, I recommend the Kencyrath books by P.C. Hodgell. The protagonist has a tendency to accidentally destroy architecture/geography, there are Lovecraftian horrors lurking around the edges of the world, carnivorous armored unicorns, strange gods, multiple kinds of undead and etc.

What I’m saying is that I’d assume employees of the transit authority would have special dispensation to eat on the trains because the nature of their work precludes such niceties as easily accessible break rooms and go about my day.

See, even if it is against the rules for passengers to eat on the train, I’d just assume that the employee would have dispensation as they are on the darned things all day...and mind my own business.
