Why is trying to find a way to have guns more safely in our society such a threat? I don’t want people to not have the right to own guns, I have some myself. But I am often shocked by the casual and cavalier way that many other gun owners of my acquaintance either don’t know or disregard simple safety procedures. I

This is why I hate our culture of addiction shaming.

Well, I guess we’ll just have to keep up the status quo of throwing up our hands and saying it’s too dangerous to do anything about it then!

Oh riiiight. Like abortion “regulations” that essentially keep women from accessing procedures even when their lives are in danger. Fair enough...that’s why you build access into the laws.

Right? I once suggested that maybe to fulfill the “well regulated militia” part of the 2nd Amendment, it might be a good idea if all gun owners should have to complete a training course that includes proper use, safety procedures, anger management/deescalation and first aid, with short refresher courses every few

There are plenty of royalty-free stock photos of tacky and shoddily ostentatious McMansions to be had for a reasonable fee. Then you don’t have to worry about copyright concerns.

Thrift shops! Since the fashion has shifted, there are many available at the moment.

Amen! I am short waisted and big boobed...high-waisted pants make it look like I don’t have a waist at all, just boobs right to hips. A waistline just below the hips is the only flattering cut for me, I’m stocking up because that style has been hitting the thrift shops lately.

This dilemma is why I think the future of fashion will be going back to a semi-custom market. Any time before about 100-150 years ago, you either made clothes yourself or went to a dressmaker. Then until the ‘60s or ‘70s it was still fairly common to have your off-the-rack clothes tailored at the store or and

In other news, 10 waitlisted teens suddenly have their prayers answered.

It’s a shame that Kickstarter wasn’t a thing back when she first tried to get the project off the ground. I just ponied up $10 for a museum in NYC to finish up their Muppet exhibition. I’d have been good for $10-20 for her museum.

A lot of the old malls could be converted to a mixed-use model: have moderate-priced housing (seriously, how many apartments could you put in place of a Sears?), entertainment venues, schools and all sorts of personal-service based businesses.

There’s an open air mall near my workplace that is still expanding. It

For flowers that wilt easily but dry beautifully, such as lilacs, hydrangeas and certain fragrant varieties of roses, I just skip the vase and hang them to dry in a closet. The best part is that the arrangements made from those flowers are lovely and last for a very long time.

Oh! Such TERRIBLE tenants! :D

I don’t mow my back yard as often as the front yard and mostly the grass seems to spawn elderly feral tomcats who know I’m a soft touch.

My sister was looking at possibly trading in her car and had allowed them people at the Toyota dealership to take her car back for an evaluation to see what kind of trade-in they would offer.

A couple of hours later, after some test drives, she didn’t like anything they had on the lot or what they were offering for

Alamo Drafthouse FTW - No texting or tomfoolery is permitted except in special tomfoolery-themed screenings.

I think you’re right.

Rotundity is no excuse for a poorly-fitted suit. Big dudes who could be massive and still stylish. Heck, look at Taft...he’s rumpled in the photo below, but the suit fits him.

He has a history of not paying his bills and not thinking things through. You have to plan ahead to buy a suit and have it properly fitted.
One, he’s not that patient.
Two, what skilled tailor in their right mind would want to put up with a client like that?

When I see people who don’t know the difference between a fedora and a trilby...
