Revisiting this post now that news broke that Gawker will be defunct in a weeks time. I truly hope Kotaku really isn’t going anywhere. I would be quite lost without this site in my life.

I KNEW IT! I kept getting Silent Hill vibes as I watched this all day on Sunday, now I know that it was intentional. I’m alreadying rewatching the series. This show just makes me so nostalgic for the horror and scifi faves from the 80s that I adored as a kid, and still love.

Thanks for the clarification! I forget that Netflix marks them as “new” but they aren’t really simulcast like the other streaming services.

No mention of Ajin: Demi-Human on Netflix? It just showed up as a new release on the streaming service for me today. Unless I’m completely wrong and it’s not new for this current season.

And then when it reached that point, my brain exploded. Re:ZERO is already my unexpected top pick for the season.

So far I’ve only checked out 2 episodes each of Erased/Boku dake ga Inai Ma and Dimension W, but I loved them both!

Adding this to my reading list ASAP if I can track it down!

My exact reaction.

I gasped when I saw this headline. Manglobe has been responsible for several of my all time favorite anime series. :(

Gotta catch ‘em all.

I actually have even more friends than that, can you believe it!?

Nah, it’s at least 164 other people feel the same way as me too. That’s the great thing about gaming. Everyone has their own way of enjoying the hobby. ^_^

Oh there’s always a lot of that, whether in the room with the person gaming or not hahah!

Oh I’m sure that when I’m in my 60s I’ll be singing a different tune. I see those whiskers on my grandma’s chin....

Exactly. I honestly never would have got into gaming had it not been for the opportunity to watch others enjoy it first. It’s what made me want to pick up the controller myself!

Your experience was very similar to mine. I’m 31 as well and my first experiences with gaming were intensely watching my cousin blaze through one of the Zelda games on the original NES. I think my love affair with gaming began then. It was immediately followed by another cousin and I spending an entire summer

“Oh, you can grow a beard....”

I see what you did there.

I am the only one that used to get big groups of friends together to play and watch games get played? It’d be 6 or 7 of us and we’d play through Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, the Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series, older games like Contra III: Alien Wars and the like. It was always a blast! I distinctly remember

Yep. This scene, hell the entire movie gave me night terrors for months. And I couldn’t go back to the NoES series for years without panic attacks. I thank him for ever Freddy filled nightmare I’ve had. And now that I’m in my 30s I can totally watch the NoES series... With the lights on... Surrounded by stuffed

Same. Now I’m thinking about my two other favorite horror giants from that era, Cronenberg and Carpenter, and I’m scared. -_-
