It’s BOF?
It’s BOF?
+1 for correcting Collins on the CUV, Not SUV.
+1 for correcting Collins SUV fuck up yet again.
Now that’s a blond I could have some fun with.
Torque development falls off faster than horsepower, as you extract more and more horsepower from a given size of engine, unless forced induction is used.
I was talking about the 4.0L V6 that it replaced in the minis. Makes more torque than the penta, but 20hp less. The 4.0 vans were still .1 quicker 0-60.
Torque and gearing also play a very large part in this. That little beetle @ 180hp, is likely make close to 250ft-lbs over a very wide torque band.
I know the guys I know are meticulous on maintenance, so the issue isn’t with how they’re treated in their case. I’ve drove a few Penta vehicles, I’d much rather they’d have kept the 4.0L, which was based off the 3.5L IIRC, it had a far better torque band, and imo was better suited for daily use. The pentas I’ve…
Gearing goes a long ways.
I know 3 people with Pentas. They all use 2-3qts between changes. Can’t get anything done about it seeings they’re “within spec”. I haven’t found any reason to get excited about the Pentastar, nor the transmission its mated to.
Looks clean and well kept. Mileage is decent for the year. Under $4k. NP, regardless of what it is.
Maybe it’s a Jeep thing.
Obviously not talking about the 3.8l in the minis. Never had one that used even 1 qt between changes, and they all had over 200k.
I ran 5w20 in my built high-comp 3.0 V6. That got 35mpg on average, cracked off 38 all highway. It used 1/4qt every 3k.
None of my vehicles use more than 1/2qt between changes. Couple of those have over 200k.
My supercharged 3.3L has over 200k. It used 1/2 a quart between changes, and almost all of that seeps out of the valve cover gaskets I’ve been too lazy to change.
Yet those former Saturns are still running at 300k+ miles. They usually didn’t start using oil til 150k+.
Do you even internet bro?
I can pass on that.
