I'd rather do that than work in a sweat shop.

You get extra points for having a reference to either Hellsing or Castlevania in your name. :D

Meh, their job is to play games all day, and as the article states, they're not making a bad amount of money to do it, considering the average wages in those areas.

Fuck yeah, home town Petaluma representin'

I would say its more likely that it is to avoid any possible lawsuits someone could bring to them. It seems more like they're just covering their asses as opposed to doing it out of the kindness of their hearts.

Well, yeah, Breaking Bad is the best show on TV. Who does your dad play?

This is probably true, and within good reason - why give something a 1024 or 2048 texture if an average user's screen resolution is under 2000 pixels?

Are you serious? Just because I'm a "console user" I don't understand the difference? I'm going to school for game design - of course I understand the difference. A DX11 Crysis 2 will be better than a DX9, but that doesn't change the fact that Crysis 2 already looks better than Crysis 1 while running on a lower

I'll give you Breaking Bad, but Dexter isn't that well written. More enjoyable? Certainly. But it commonly recycles plot elements and there isn't really any character progression. This last season was especially disappointing in that area, as *SPOILERS* we do not see Dexter fully take on his role as a father as I

The textures aren't "hidden" by the lighting. There are comparison photos of Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 where obviously certain props, such as barrels, etc. have much higher texture solutions than the originals.

Even though it doesn't use DX11, it looks just as good as Crysis 1, if not better, in my opinion. Rock Paper Shotgun had a great rundown that was done in a very sarcastic tone, but if you look at the comparisons, Crysis 2 is much better than the original. You can really do a lot with DX9 these days, surprisingly.

Its so they can link you to another article and get more ad revenue.

I think this "Friend Test" will help me extensively in the future.

I know. They have it on all the TVs at Best Buy. It makes Inception look like it was filmed with a house hold camera.

You could always run the game in a window, just FYI. I played FFXI running in a window the whole time I played.

I've never seen gameplay neutered to support swapping discs. In fact, Mass Effect 2 is one of the best reviewed games of all time and that shipped on multiple discs on the 360.

Discs weren't the real reason for price increase - it was an increase in the production costs of games as a whole.

Glad someone else remembered the PS3 forced installs. That's just as bad as having to swap discs, if not worse, considering that if you're out of hard drive space, you have more choices to make.

They're not doing away with it - just, as the article states, "dramatically increasing its size."
