No, no it’s not. It will sell better than the kart racing games, and it may occupy a similar position that Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid currently occupies, but there is no way you can consider a game a “Smash killer” if it is only hyped by the hardcore competitive community. Smash Ultimate didn’t sell 30 million

Well, this won’t go anywhere. While it could have been cool to maybe focus the series on a fictionalized version of this woman, the fact that they explicitly created a fictional world means that public figures of the period being represented are kinda fair game. I don’t know the exact specifics of the law, but I’ve

That’s because it’s literally a direct sequel that picks up right where the previous game left off.

Yeah, I don’t think the author knows what a postmortem is. I suspect they think it’s something you do when something bad happens rather than something you do when a project ends.

Agreed: post-mortems are good for identifying what went well in a production as well as what didn’t. This wasn’t the best angle to get a dig in at Naughty Dog.

Yeah, 100 percent.

Hmmmmm. You can’t say that. But if he’s been outwardly and vocally progressive since, I’m not sure how else you can earn the benefit of the doubt. I’m usually cynical about public apologies, because most of the time the person in question hasn’t actually changed or been vocal in the other direction. But in this case

I agree with this, but also... 2007 was 14 years ago. If someone has shown some sort of personal growth, will we hold them accountable for old statements forever? What does “personal growth” even mean when it comes to professional relationships and employment?

At my high school, when we were learning about WWII, the teacher brought in memorabilia he had. A huge Nazi flag.

Your big mistake with this post is your misguided belief that hard work and having fun are mutually exclusive. I’ve done lots of hard work, including the QA work you speak of. Hell it was QA work FOR Activision.

It sounds like he’s just ignorant. Kind of a shame. I have a friend who is incapable of understanding someone else’s viewpoint too. He’s not a bad guy, but you really have to know what you’re getting into if you engage him in a conversation about certain things.

Liberal: I believe in tolerance and holding space for multiple viewpoints.
Also Liberal: If you are pro-life you are stupid.

Link will not, however, perform cunnilingus.

...feels like “play as the villains of a game that we already made a while ago” is like the bottom of the barrel of “things to do when you’ve run out of ideas”.

Yeah this is a bit of a non-starter. There’s probably a ton of modular code they re-use, and releasing the source code opens them up to all kinds of potential future malware/exploits.

I don’t understand why they’re delisting them from the stores though? Leave them on the store and put a big bright red banner on the Origin store page saying ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY FOR THIS GAME NO LONGER WORKS.

The source code stuff is a problem, since they probably used a lot of third party stuff they licensed just for that game (licenses are usually per project).
Without those, the source won’t do you any good, and there’s probably no way that a lot of that stuff will come for free.
Also, in some cases code gets re-used

I sincerely hope this game is good both because my career has crossed its path a few times and I just like the idea of more good, quality options out there on the market.

That said, I’m frankly amazed anything gets done at Techland based on on the record (via that expose from a few months ago) and off the record

Nope. They have to make sure that 1 DS copy of Cory in the House is under lock and key.

Look, while I think what she does is silly, I also take major umbrage with the idea that what she does (sit in a tub with a bikini.. not even nude, while people watch her on their monitors / phones / tv).. is somehow less “decent” or socially acceptable than watching simulation of mass murder, blood, carnage,
