I thought of the "Ramona" books too. But no clue what I would do if I had kids, other than be anxious about the whole "go out and play!" thing.

I can only imagine how traumatic it would be to for a kid to change a baby brother's diaper, since you know, he would have a real penis to pee on you with.

It's always good to know your life expectancy before having a child. That way you don't leave two school-aged kids behind when you die of cancer in your 30s, like friend of mine's dad did.

Where have you gone, George Michael?

I can't speak to being plus-sized, but I hear you. So much. Being "wanted" by men I'm not attracted is not nearly what it's cracked up to be.

I lived in Chicago for 15 years - amazing city. I second the advice to get the Reader. There's tons of great inexpensive theater, if that's your thing. Also, neighborhood festivals go on throughout the summer. Not the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park; that's kind of annoying imo. Look for the smaller local food or music

That sounds sweaty and uncomfortable.

I just caught that.....still claiming funny though. Is funny and ridiculous sexy or unsexy? Can we erase all meaning from the word "sexy"? I think we can!

Yeah, this is like asking "are people sexy?" It always depends who and what you're talking about. I"m surprised she didn't mention non-orgasm sex faces, but those are funny, so...

Good old middle child Edith, forgotten as usual. How meta.

Almost all the women I know who kept their names when marrying ended up giving their kids the man's last name. I know of one gay couple who just selected a new last name for themselves and their daughter. Neat, I think.

Thank you. There's really nothing Disney-ish, prince/princess-related, or soulmateish about traditional vows. My unsentimental sister did traditional vows at her ceremony along with some readings about darkness and misery beside the good stuff. It raised eyebrows but it fit.

I had Free to be... as a kid (born 1976), and I still love it. Funny to listen to it in the days of gendered baby clothes, though.

Nope. 22-year-olds contact me on OkC and I'm in my 30s. THAT'S weird, because we're at thoroughly different stages in life. Nothing weird about you two.

That happened for me. Bear in mind though, that I didn't get much (any) sexual attention as a teenager or young 20-something. When I was supposed to be young, beautiful, and fertile I was really pretty awkward, unsettled in myself and self-conscious about my still-blotchy skin. I grew out of that and beginning in my

Yeah....I had the blotchy pimply skin of a teenager through most of my 20s.

Yay! Thanks for telling us. Instead fan here.

Yup. What the fuck?

Yeah, that feeling of "God, I NEVER have to buy any menstrual products again" is great.

I've been using both DivaCup and SoftCups for the past 8 months. I like them both pretty well - I LOVE that no changing for 12 hours thing. I give the edge to the SoftCup because for me it leaks less. This might be my particular shape - lots of women have had bad luck with it. I'm still fiddling with the DivaCup but
