I haven’t seen The Flash yet so I’m not sure how it all fits. I think Mushietti was just speaking as to where the next story would go and Barry’s mom’s killer is a loose end.

What’s crazy is Miller was cast as Barry Allen back in 2014 while BvS and Suicide Squad were in production. The only thing I had seem them in was We Need to Talk About Kevin, so they were relatively low profile. I recall the reaction being more curious since Barry Allen is typically a straight arrow nebbish young…
I bet he couldn’t even conquer Planet Houston if he tried.
I would wager WB never actually intended to produce a sequel, and was just trying to cut their losses.
Muschietti recently confirmed Reverse Flash killed Barry’s mom and that would be the focus of a sequel (which ain’t happening), which is definitely spreading a thin story over too much bread. And as you say, mining material that was already stretched over an entire season of TV. That facet of the story isn’t even that…
I never understood being so slavish to the source material, only to change the ending. Then what’s the point?
I like both movies ok, but they both swung too far in the wrong direction.
I wouldn’t doubt it, he stuffs these films with unnecessary scenes that could easily be cut (ex. I don’t even remember the dragon). Like interrupting the climax of a movie so Wonder Woman can open meta-human email attachments. It’s like he can’t focus on the story at hand, there were too many toys in the sandbox.

To its credit, Shazam Fury of the Gods makes fun of this awful moment.
Snyder is a fantastic visualist, but constantly misses the human element in his films. He’s too focused on making things look cool than making them matter. His complete disinterest in Clark as a character is a prime example. In Army of the Dead, a group of people risk their lives to save a person, and that person’s…
I was like, am I understanding Jonathan Kent correctly? Superman’s dad wants Clark to stay in his fox hole and he dies on that mountain?
But also, Clark might not have known enough to try and move the fight elsewhere.
I can imagine not everyone is as well versed in Superman-as-Christ iconography in film. I thought that this shot warranted a little more of an eye roll.
Pa Kent briefly provides a bit of moralizing, telling him Clark he is here for a reason and it’s “not to score touchdowns”. And his death teaches Clark there are things his powers can’t fix, rather than teaching him to hide rather than help (or whatever).
the most enduring memory I have of the experience is Superman floating through space in a Christ pose
It will be revealed that Senator Patrick Leahy has been Bat-Mite the entire time!
but based on all the stories about The Flash having a Top Secret ending that Warner Bros. is going to absurd lengths not to spoil, it does seem to at least be relishing the opportunity to do something very silly.
I remember reading he had a pretty bad alcohol problem a while back and (fellow Mr Show alum) Sarah Silverman threw him a line when she cast him on her show.
The extradition wheels of New Freeland turn slowly. They were probably waiting to snag him during the next Olympics.
