To be fair, the author’s specific definition of “pandemic movie” assumes the reader knows Glass Onion features COVID as a plot point. I wasn’t aware and only gleaned that from further reading. Then I stopped reading the article because I can’t stand Gilchrist’s junk writing like this:

An Editor can help, but a writer should still be able to read that back and fix it. But this reviewer seems to think word sandwiches means more profound criticism. A good portion of this review is utterly meaningless, and indicates a lot of this movie went over his head (the purpose of the chimp). Which isn’t

says the guy, who got rich and famous hosting a comedy show.

Maybe it’s Marvel’s fault for grouping these into “Phases” but maybe that’s not the story they want to tell, and story comes first. I don’t think shoving a bunch of new characters into a movie inorganically just because the last “phase” did it is a good way to build to the next story. Then you’re just repeating

And some of it turns out to be pretty good or better! I mean, it must be if we are now complaining that nearly 30 films with different teams and actors aren’t as interconnected as we’d like. I remember being stoked that Thor was going to be in a Hulk TV movie.

I’ve read fans complaining about too much cross-over and now not enough. I think fans need to sit back and, uh, marvel at just what an amazing thing Marvel Studios has created over the past 15 years. They spent 5 years getting flagship characters together, they spent 10 years assembling some deep dive characters into a

Phase 3 ended a lot characters’ story arcs (and movie contracts), so Phase 4 introducing more new characters means less cross-over. Which is a funny complaint because ever since Spider-Man Homecoming I’ve read a lot of complaints in regards to letting characters have their own movie to their own damn selves.

No problem bro! Here to help!

I can send you daily reminders so you remember better.

He’s underrated, definitely did the most damage but I guess he’s not as colorful.

I watched WandaVision right before Doc Strange 2, and was like oh, ok, we’re doing this now. That lady’s a bad guy now.

Did AV Club leave out Keaton’s Vulture just to get more clicks from people looking for him on the list?

My wife, who has only seen Bond movies since Casino Royale was like “of all the names to pick, that one is stupid.”

It’s just an attempt to add some prestige to the Discovery garbage. You can’t shine a turd.

It’s two completely different audiences, just have two streamers. It’s not like there isn’t an audience for both and one has to support the other.

You’re right, it’s easy to forget how much fun Gustin was having as Barry in Season 1.

I just hope that Legends of Tomorrow has proven that just because the hero is surrounded by colorful characters, they don’t need to be boring and stupid in order to further the plot each week (the Disney+ Marvel writers have figured this out about Daredevil). The only time Gustin’s Barry was much fun was when we was

Joe should be #2. Barry and Iris, on the other hand, are not top 20.

Eh, the DC Comics CW shows were all nearing the end of their run regardless of the WB merger or the CW sale. But Stargirl was always in a weird space since it was developed for the DC Universe streamer, but moved to the CW when HBO Max launched. Stargirl was probably too teeny for the premium HBO, but notably less

It was pretty terrible (the unnecessary framing device was a bit of a “how do we package this turd? red flag), but I’d totally get a pagan goat man demon grill for the back yard.
