That’s it, was totally going through my head after reading the comments here too, specifically Walken saying, “Kid, that’s what it says on the card.”

Because they told the complete story of the kids defeating IT for the first time in the previous movie, it’s hard to do an “adult characters reclaiming their lost trauma” storyline without just repeating everything the audience already knows.

I’m sure there’s an “out” in the fine print of the contract you signed.

It’s weird how despite Hollywood’s ability to generate amazing CGI, they’ve completely failed to capture the Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror of Pennywise.

I don’t find either film particularly scary, but they’re entertaining, so meh.

The Shining shout out was quick and dumb, but The Thing reference made more sense since they’re both kind of Lovecraftian beasts. Even moreseo since Richard Masur played Stan Uris in the original miniseries and was in The Thing.

Also, pretty lucky no one else was staying at the Inn. Or working there at any time of the day ever.

I think the sets that are still in the Tunisian desert are rebuilt Tatooine sets from Phantom Menace
