Especially in the Hamptons? In NYC, everyone finds themselves sitting next to an array of celebrities in restaurants and coffee shops all of the time. When you whittle that down in the Hamptons, where famous people who can afford to get away from the plebes and congregate, I doubt the other couple was really so star

a Superman-like golden god with a flipside that is defined by darkness

They have one in the Bosskton Store!

I bet Aunt Beru shops at Macy’s Windu.

So you think angry Reddit commenters are a reliable sample of the rest of the world. That’s kind of a scary idea.

King Curtis’ “Soul Serenade” has always been one of my favorite songs, so Aretha’s take on her frequent collaborator’s tune has always been up there

Duane Allman plays some amazing slide Aretha’s “The Weight” cover, and The Allman Brothers eventually covered it “in the Aretha style” during their last decade on tour. I have a hard time hearing it any other way (unless it’s the Staple Singers).

No, no, we’d all love to hear the 5 minutes of their lives you shared. That paints a much more complete picture for sure. And it’s so interesting.

One of my favorite cuts of hers, “It Ain’t Fair”, featuring King Curtis and Duane Allman (both of whom died suddenly soon after in 1971). King Curtis & the Kingpins opened for Aretha often in the late 1960s, including at the Fillmore West where both recorded pretty epic albums that have since been released as one kick

The point is, maybe her life had a little more to it than the 3 meals you served her. But let’s make this about YOU.

Hmm let’s count them off here:

Plus, one of the big problems with Spider-Man’s world is Peter Parker knows all of his villains personally (Lizard, Goblin, Venom, etc), which becomes a crutch. Dr Octopus is one of the few he doesn’t know personally, but lazy screenwriting insists that personal conflict raises the stakes, so they introduced the two

Don’t forget, the big Summer 2001 teaser for Spider-Man was him saving a helicopter by webbing it in between the World Trade Towers. The film wasn’t just reacting to “terrorism”, it was a pretty a pretty monumental elephant that the film not so subtly referenced.

They’re Duplassitous!

Mark Duplass is on it!

No but, Rackstraw is sitting in seat 12D on the plane pictured. It was the best photo they could find.

AV Club pieces the news together mostly from old sugar packets.

Remove New Jersey and Staten Island and it’d basically be paradise.
