I have never outwardly rejected a character arc as I have Dwight’s. This is both from a meta-standpoint (they had him kill Denise just to put the characters in a situation where Abraham could die anyway) and from a character standpoint (he has literally done *nothing* redeemable in his three focus episodes)

Not that it should be taken as any kind of spoiler, but it’s interesting to see who were the ‘only actors left standing’ that the producers chose to invite to SXSW.

Better 6 solid episodes than The Walking Dead approach of taking a half season of material and stretching it across a whole one.

Why can’t it be for titilation? You think the explicit sex scenes in The L Word were there to advance the story? Queer women want to see hot sex too and it’s far more a pairing geared towards queer women, with both ladies being over 30 and one being very in control.

Since it’s Buffy day, let’s spread the immortal words of Harmony Kendall:

Except maybe one foot in height and an Academy Award.

Until yesterday, I had no idea this existed. But it’s one of the John Wick directors doing a neon-soaked action spy thriller with Imperator Furiosa. You have me at opening night.

Mr. F!

Agreed. Someone said it very well over on the jezebel post:

So I guess we have no reason to have a Black Widow movie, right?

Yeah, the Wick-ian fight scenes, just glorious. I’m so, so, so goddamn glad that we’re seeing more action scenes like that, it’s almost like action films work better when you show the action!

I was always hoping they’d finally make a Black Widow movie!

Ahem..

I’m so excited for this! Charlize Theron making out with Sofia Boutella? A female-lead action movie? The director of John Wick? Sign me the fuck up.

I totally get, respect, and frankly admire the necessity to have all the scripts up to Cameron’s high standards before shooting.

Seriously, are we really frustrated about these delays? Is anyone really checking for the Avatar universe?

But that is a technical impact. Not a cultural one. How we consume movies has been influenced by Avatar, but no actual movie was influenced by Avatar. Stylistically, narratively and thematically, Avatar had no impact.

Yet The Matrix had a much bigger cultural impact. How many times have you seen the bullettime scenes (Neo dodging the bullets or Trinity pan-around kick) referenced or parodied? How many time have you seen anything about Avatar parodied?

There is a difference between 9 years and 20+ years. 20+ years after the original, you get into nostalgia. But at 9 years, it’s too old to be fresh, and not old enough to be nostalgic.

Apocalypse as the primary baddie in an X-book?
