yes. you can transfer your stuff when you upgrade, and yes nintendo can restore your stuff (if they want). But, you on your own can't do it. you always need daddy Big N to do it for you, and in some cases they won't. for example i lost all my "original ambassador" games, because nintendo said no, when i asked them to…
