I know it’s just a game. I haven’t played it so this is all speculation on my part, but why not mix it up a bit? You can literally keep everything about the game as it is, just challenge the nobility of the samurai in your story a tad to make it slightly different?

I keep meaning to watch Samurai Champloo, as it’s done by the guy who did Cowboy Bebop. You’ve made me want to watch it even more. I think a game undoing some of the gloss the Samurai’s have in Western culture would have been really cool, and interesting. 

I wonder if we are starting to see the more bare-faced algorithmic model companies like Netflix are using to generate content, in videogames. That’s not to say all the content is made like that, or even that content made with that in mind is always bad, but as you say, it does start to feel like you’re playing the…

I’m actually more interested with the idea that Sucker Punch chose the wrong era to set the game in. Quote from Metro Gamecentral (for whom I personally match up to quite well with my taste in games):

So disappointed this isn’t VR. Having experienced it only in VR I can’t imagine wanting to play it without.

This is so cool and it's free! This and Beat Saber keep me coming back to VR. Can’t wait!
