No, we just wasted billions on Cash for Clunkers.

Yes if you bought a steaming turd to begin with? Yep you have to fix everything the last guy never fixed.

I bought my 323 e36 for £450 ($700), it was rough around the edges, had a rusty sill, the owners were dodgy as and it was filthy. But it had an MOT, it ran well and the service book looked well stamped up to 2010.

Thank you, every other comment is just bashing BMW's as a brand. Just like any car, there are deals out there to be had for a cheap car, but then again there are the same ones that are too far to be saved. Sounds like this guy got the latter and did not have enough mechanical sense to realize this in the first place.

Seriously? As a German I'm not amused. I think you crossed a line there.

So let's see, a guy buys a BMW, non-running without doing a proper diagnosis or research into worst-case scenarios, attempts to build a race car on zero budget, and complains when his bad plan doesn't come to fruition? How is this the car's fault again?

Funny description aside, I actually did buy a 328, non-running

It seems to me this guy bought an abused car in poor condition and expected it to be in great shape. Had he had bought a Ford Focus in a similar condition he'd have similar problems, only the parts would've been cheaper.

Just don't tell anyone that the PT Cruiser is technically classified as a wagon.

I can't imagine. Seriously. I.Can't.Imagine. I cry for that poor man.

Diagnostic WITHOUT EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT: If there's a system in the car that can produce trouble codes, etc. (think OBDII; engine codes, ABS, transmission, whatever) the car should be able completely report the problems without buying something else.

its like a really well sorted drift missile, i love that its not just another basic s13 with a redtop. plus i have a thing for unique build and 4 door manuals.

"Although the price is a bit on the high side, I was on the fence until he stated that it's his "summer drift project" and showed a pic of it drifting. Ugh."

I see you, James May.

The dude: I pledge allegiance to the oil companies, of the United States of America....

The driver doesn't deserve something so spectacular.

Also missing is the driver of the Mustang, said to be a man in his 20s.

How do they not know who owns the car? Did he steal the vin and license plates before he ran?

that just ... does not seem healthy.

Turbo V8?

Lord, I was born a Scramblin' man. But I'm trying to make a living and doing the best I can. But when it's time for voting, I hope you'll understand: Total crackpipe for this plan.
