Mostly it’s white people who see “varying degrees of racism” if indeed they even acknowledge that it exists. As far as many of them are concerned, if they are not wearing a KKK hood or lynching a black person, they are not racist.

Not only that, but all of those white people behind the lynch mobs, lunch counters and Jim Crow didn’t just die and go away. They also didn’t suddenly have a change of heart. They are still here thinking and acting the same way. They raised their children to be just like them.
