Well I learned a new word today!
Thank you! This is not the story of a brave guy who was censored. it’s the story of a low level grunt trying to make decisions above his pay grade and getting pissy when he was told to get back in his lane.
I’m sorry but this guy seems like the biggest myopic idiot on the planet. Taking a stand...hah. Company decided they had a different aesthetic taste than his for a situation in game, this is not a situation in which “taking a stand” is called for. Like, did this guy go directly from the womb to this job or what?
“I wanted to make a statement,” localization specialist Tom Lipschultz wrote in an e-mail. “I don’t think it’s right to make any change, no matter how minor, for the purpose of ‘sanitizing’ a game.”
According to the report, the accuser says she met Conley in an elevator and he asked her to have a foursome with another friend of his.
It’s possible, but I just don’t think Tucker’s as good as O’Reilly (and by “good,” let me make it EXTREEEEMELY clear that I am not making a value judgment, just an evaluation of skill) - Tucker comes off as smug and condescending, whereas O’Reilly has more of a folksy “just between us, can you BELIEVE these people?”…
He did it all for the nookie...the same exact nookie for the rest of his life.
IDK.

Lots of us can be outraged about something and still laugh at a decently cracked joke about how shitty Ross Douthat’s kids are.

For the purposes of self-preservation, I won’t go into too much detail, but I did send an email to Carla. Hopefully I hear back from her.
Not my story, but I worked on the case. Unfortunately, Carla does not provide an email for anonymous tips, and I suspect the story would get suppressed because it does not further the agenda.
There’s two sides to every story. Without divulging too much, the whole story does not paint the guest in the best light. I suspect it will come out at some point. However, I’m not sure it’ll be reported on this site as it undermines the claim of racism.
It kinda bothers me that CN’s main question is ‘how do I get people to try the thing I like/am comfortable with so I can talk about it without feeling judged’ than how to better relate to people different from him.
This is quite insightful, as I went through a similar phase in college. I even had the fedora/trenchcoat/katana trifecta. Fortunately, I grew out of it with continued experiences with actual human people.
That first girl obviously needs therapy as there is nothing you or anyone in the comments can say to change this deep-seated hatred of herself. Women are raised from a pre-conscious age to hate themselves and are criticized for literally any possible attribute. Too smart, too dumb, too bossy, too quiet, too skinny,…
This is solid, with this, and maybe just paying attention to the people around you and their conversations will work wonders. Like consider asking the group you’re with if they have heard of Overwatch, instead of diving right into a conversation about the games meta.
For Confused Nerd, even if he doesn’t have any other passions yet he can and should engage people about their passions. Someone’s talking about sports or musicals and you don’t know the first thing? Ask questions, follow up on what they say. Remember some of the details and read up a little on what they talked…
