When I’m in a relationship, I want many things, one of which is sex. If I can’t have that, I might not want the relationship. If I can have sex but not have one of those other many things, I might not want the relationship.

When you’re in a long term relationship, then by all means, work to make that person happy. Be the best boyfriend/girlfriend ever. Ruin them for all other men/women because they’ll never find someone as loving and caring as you.
You know, I’ll even go out on a limb here and say that it’s not just about flings; not anymore.
At the bare minimum, outside edge of what would be chargeable, it would have to be a quid pro quo, and it has to be material.
Agreed. The one thing I couldn’t quite figure out from Mrs. Robinson’s letter is whether she didn’t want to date younger men, or if she was more concerned with A) what was best for the younger guys; and B) what her friends think. But I get the sense she kinda wants to date them.
The Stolen Valor Act was ruled unconstitutional in 2011. Lying about service is only a crime if it’s in connection with some kind of scheme or fraud, for example applying for veterans’ benefits.
They don’t care about the money. The point was to make her story go away. Fighting her in court keeps her story in the news. It’s better for them if they just let her out of the contract, let her say her peace, and then let the news cycle move on. There’s nothing she can say now that hasn’t been said before.
No gossip rag would want agree in a contract to say specifically what they were doing with a story they bought. Maybe you plan a story about how Kathy Griffin is rude to waiters, then suddenly new Beyonce Baby Bump photos get released and your entire layout gets changed. That Kathy Griffin story is never going to get…
My guess is she’s lying. That seems like a really weird and really specific conversation to have with someone you barely know, on a business trip none the less. And she has no proof she was even on the trip to begin with.
Holy crap! It’s the Alien Bounty Hunter from X-Files!
It’s probably not hush money. Hannity is likely truthful in that he’s probably got all sorts of lawyers. And his role of sexual misconduct settlement lawyer was probably filled years ago.
The Nazis believed that Germany never lost the war on the battlefield. The war was lost by traitors and Bolsheviks on the home front who poisoned the fighting spirit of the German people. At the time, Bolsheviks and Jews were closely associated (Karl Marx was Jewish, for example). This is called the “Stab in the Back”…
I think the reality for Trump and his supporters is probably sadder and less forgivable than mental illness. There are some people who pride themselves on being able to make the “tough” decisions. And what they really mean by that is they’re willing to cause some people to suffer in service to a greater good.
He has. But there’s a difference between fist pounding and actual consequences.
Even accounting for equatorial bulge, the highest peaks and the lowest ocean crevices, the earth only deviates about 0.3% from spherical. A cueball is less spherical than the Earth.
I hated the everyone-wants-to-kill-you mechanic.
That’s not right. You’re conflating whether an attorney has a power of attorney, which they do, with whether Cohen had the authority to act without informing his client, which he didn’t. Plenty of people who have powers of attorney exceed the permissible scope of their power. It doesn’t automatically void the…
The lawyer can do things without informing you, and those things can bind you. It’s just that the lawyer can get in big trouble for doing so.
They do. Lawyers are attorneys. When you hire a lawyer, you’re empowering them to act as your attorney.
I don’t think it would be automatically void. Your lawyer has power of attorney, which means you give them authority to act on your behalf.
