I can't imagine being that bothered by Chris Martin. Whatever year Justin Bieber was born was probably worse for the musical world.

I don't think anyone was selling Sheryl Crow as Alternative. She and Blues Traveler were more like classic rock-redux.
That was Gary aka Baba Booey. https://www.youtube.com/wat…
If there are girls who actually aspire to be like the characters on Girls, then they have bigger problems than TV could possibly cause or fix. The first episode had Hannah calling herself "the voice of a generation…or a voice of a generation", and it was a joke.
They did the same thing the year before with Jerry Maguire dialogue and "Secret Garden" by Bruce Springsteen.
I would think the takeaway from scenes like that in Girls was that the characters involved were creepy and/or damaged. I think it's fine that Insecure went a different way for this episode, but not all TV characters are meant to be role models.

"God Said Ha!" shows up occasionally on cable and is very funny and touching.
"The Joy Luck Club" was a book about Chinese/Chinese-Americans, and the title of the book/movie came from the story.
You may need to set your sights lower. I feel like I saw that on TV Guide or Parade magazine.
Are you a brick house? Or easy like Sunday morning?
I haven't watched all the episodes yet, but I like it. Andrea Martin is pretty fabulous as the annoying mom.
I have heard of him, but I doubt I could pick him out of a line-up.
If my middle name and surname were practically the same, I think I'd opt for Felix instead.
Elton John had earlier hits, but I certainly wouldn't say Billy Joel was a tri-state phenomenon. He had a ton of top 40 hits. Certainly, there were a few people outside of NY who watched Bosom Buddies and heard the theme song.
You mean In Utero.
You should have opted for The Entertainer instead.
