Why must someone be to blame? 

I think the better question is: does there always have to be someone to blame? 

Yeah I wouldn’t call it tasteful so much as cookie cutter and absolutely devoid of any character. Also, if I had 1.9 million to buy a place I would rather something smaller but in a far more desirable location than a fucking suburb of a suburb. It’s not about ‘shame’, it’s about people judging what school someone went to when hiring, and picking the kids who went to the better school. When people stop doing that, then parents can feel great about sending their kids to community college or trade school.
