@ms negative the easy-going unicorn: The mom lives in Kansas. They had a split custody arrangement whereby they each were supposed to have her for 5 months at a time. She just came to Tacoma in the last month. Previously, however, she wasn't even living with her mom, but with her grandmother in Montana. The

It isn't so much that people reveal too much personal information. The problem is when they offer up an opinion about a product when no one was asking. I always wonder if they are getting paid to say something. A Facebook friend of mine updated her status to say she loved a certain diet program, but I just felt

At least she isn't skiing in a ball gown to show her "softer" side.

@snobographer: The question is not the legality in either country, but how the public will perceive it. Many people in the US think this was just some people who accidentally made a mistake as they tried sincerely to help kids. I bet Clinton and Obama are trying to figure out how to handle this diplomatically as we

@wooden_shoes: I believe the issue is that several of the parents actually gave up the children willingly because they wanted the kids to go somewhere better. If the parents don't have the means to care for the children, they may just put them into an orphanage.

@HerdingCats: I would bet that the kind of person who is too cheap to give money after a disaster is not willing to take hours out of the day to donate blood, which is not the most comfortable procedure. I truly think people think donating blood (or milk) is a strong commitment of caring. People just want to help so

This happened during Katrina, too, I recall. I think people just want to feel needed. If breast milk was actually requested, there is only a certain subset of people who can provide that, and they would feel like they are doing something very special to help. Many of those women have probably also donated cash, too.

@Tippi Hedren: Don't go there, you two. It really isn't.

Do NOT try going swimming or horse back riding while using an iPad.

@didntmeanto: I DID go through the Taco Time drive-through on the way there, and had a burrito. I didn't throw up, but I didn't feel good. Let me tell you, I regretted that one!

@L'Chaim!: Yeah, a little bit too excited to be proven right on that one...

I loved January Jones' umbrella, though. It looked kind of classy and functional in a simple way. Where can I buy that?

I am an expert on Katie's parenting skills because I have seen pictures of her kid. Therefore I have the right to make assumptions and judgements.

@Erda: " I also noticed that a lot of working parents (of both sexes) who get involved with volunteer activities have trouble dealing with the SAHMs who often run the things"

Intern Katy, that link is so funny I am still crying! High point of my day!

@clevernamehere: But they do mention that breastfeeding is better for the environment, which isn't an outcome for the children. If they think it is fair to mention that, it seems fair if someone wants to mention convenience, too.

It is the "effortless perfection" thing rearing its ugly head again. Men don't want to *know* it is hard to look good. They want you to have clear skin, well-kept hair, skinny body, but they don't want to see you putting on makeup, going to the salon, or dieting.
