Yep. Not there. I was standing there, looking at the display, and I said, aloud, “Of course. No female superhero figures. It might taint the overall display” in this bitter voice. I think I scared the Target associate standing there, but the woman wheeling her cart nearby shook her head in disgust while looking at the

My first comment was eaten. I saw the latest Avenger movie with my teenage cousin. We went to the book store after. She was looking at bobble heads for Avengers. She notices there were none for Black Widow. I told her there was also no action figures for her too. She ended up getting a Vision bobble head. It is weird

No but seriously, my daughter is super annoyed that she can't get a black widow costume/action figure/spy gear. It is literally all she wants.

I assumed they meant donations to the family. In a lot of places/cultures it’s common to give money to help out a grieving family with funeral costs etc.

“So* He’s like a college freshman starting his essay on poverty with “From the beginning of time, there have been people, and some of them have been poor.” “

I haven’t read the story yet, but this is me reading just the headline:

All of the officers involved are also facing some combination of 2nd degree assault, false imprisonment and misconduct charges, in addition to the couple of officers with 2nd degree and depraved heart murder charges.

Despite that fact that Mosby has FIVE generations of police in her family, including bother her parents, her grandfather, uncle, etc. But you know, its not like she could hold the opinion that you can support police while still holding them accountable. Its really not the difficult.

Depraved-heart murder, also known as depraved-indifference murder, is an American legal term for an action that demonstrates a “callous disregard for human life” and results in death. In most states, depraved-heart killings constitute second-degree murder.[1]

in an ironic turn of events, the police union is now demanding an “independent prosecutor”

I think when they write things like this:

Even scarier, I’m apparently made of chemicals. I’m not sure there’s any cleanse that will do anything about all that deoxyribonucleic acid. :(

They’ve partnered with the Environmental Working Group? Give me a break. EWG is dedicated to stirring up irrational fear about nothing.

"You are using 168 chemicals on your body daily!"

If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can’t compete in the decathlon. You wouldn’t be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn’t given a chance.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Hopefully history will go that way, but there’s no guarantee of some sort of unending social progression. Societies are quite capable of regressing and becoming more restrictive.

The EWG are borderline food-babes so I smell woo-reactionary-bullshit.

Chemicals and toxins, oh my!

The last person I heard using the word "Papist" was my husband's old Great-Uncle Lew. He wasn't fond of Jews, left-handed people, black people, or (specifically) Mexicans either. Rumor had it he was a Klansman. Memories ...
