EVERYONE fell in Sochi. Such a disappointing men’s final. Here’s hoping we get a better event this time!

Surya’s backflip was amazing, and she was such an incredible athlete, but the girl was a horrible skater. Like, her actual skating skills were not good. She had no control over her edges, and her programs didn’t have much actual choreography beyond the jumps and spins. That’s a big part of the score.

Sochi was his time, and unfortunately, he couldn’t rise to the occasion. But he’ll always be remembered as one of the greats.

Mark Mitchell was bumped from the team in 1992 in favor of Todd Eldredge.

Athletes who proved themselves clean were allowed to compete, but only as “Olympic Athletes from Russia.” No flag, no anthem, neutral uniforms, etc.

Adam skated so well, and I felt that his PCS (artistic/performance) score should’ve been a point or two higher. But you can’t underrotate your triple Lutz when you don’t have a quad in your program. If the Lutz had been all the way around, he would’ve beaten Kolyada. 

Oh, Patrick. He’s SUCH a beautiful skater, but he thinks his natural talent is a substitute for nose-to-the-grindstone training. It’s a shame.

God bless Plushenko. In a sport full of divas, he was the biggest. I miss him.

You clearly know nothing about figure skating if you think that’s the reason Mirai didn’t make the team in 2014.

Agreed re: their PCS being really similar. Adam gave much more of a complete performance than Kolyada.

ugh I haaaate this program. Eteri Tutberidze (her coach) is incapable of creating programs without some sort of weird gimmick like this. Why can’t she just skate to the gorgeous Chopin nocturne without strange voiceovers over the top?

There’s a surprising amount of rock music in skating! Virtue and Moir skated an AMAZING Prince program last year, and their short dance this year is to the Rolling Stones/Eagles/Santana.

Jason Brown’s Riverdance is ICONIC.
