Right. We all live in the real world. Sometimes it’s just easier to make the socially correct decision. I’m not going to base my status as a feminist on whether I wanted to wear a white dress when I got married.

I puffy hearts love Room and Board.
I loooove our Room and Board couch. It was pricey, but worth every penny. It’s solidly built (in North Carolina) and very comfortable. Their customer service is great, too.
My mom always said, “We are rich in family and love.” We certainly were not poor. We could afford Christmas presents and new clothes and modest vacations every year or two, so that definitely makes my family “well-off” in the eyes of people whose families couldn’t afford food, but we were solidly middle class in…
I will watch any and all spin-offs from Laguna Beach. Sorry not sorry. That show was a masterpiece.
I think it depends how you approach it. If you make it a regular thing where you go once a month or whatever, that’s definitely a different thing than a once-per-year token drive-by visit.
My parents’ combined income at the time I went to college put them in the 60th percentile of American wage earners. I qualified for need-based financial aid in addition to merit-based. I took out a lot of student loans to afford the remainder of my tuition because my parents sure as hell couldn’t afford to pay it…
Huh? Where in the Midwest do you live? There are Nordstroms in suburban Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Kansas City.
Bill Cosby sucks, but Cliff and Clair Huxtable are my parenting idols.
This is VERY true. Growing up, I went to inner city public schools where the couple of “rich” kids had lawyer dads and got used cars for their 16th birthdays. My one friend had a lake house and went to Hilton Head every year for spring break.
I went to private college because of scholarships that made it cheaper than attending my state university. My parents are both public school teachers, so definitely not rich.
bahahaha My MIL is named Donna, and she grew up very middle class. Now she’s rich, though, and she can be annoying about it. She’s all about labels.
“IT’S MY FAVORITE!!!!!”
Lock him up!
You should read his autobiography.
Alinea is THE SHIT. I took my husband a few years ago for his 30th birthday. It was absolutely incredible. I would love to go back now that they’ve just re-designed the interior.
All hail queen Brit Brit
I went to a musical this week, and they had a full concession stand with popcorn, candy, ice cream cones, and even sandwiches. At a Broadway tour! I was so annoyed.
haha Right. Not taking a photo isn’t an option.
I didn’t say it was an effective strategy. Teenagers are dumb.
