When somebody is essentially saying “oh, every relationship is a *little* toxic/abusive” I know that person speaking is toxic and an abuser. I have never once felt threatened by my significant other. It’s not normal.

He honestly sounds like someone who has never been criticized before in his life. I’m sure he has, but he never got such harsh, explicit criticism that he can’t laugh off or see only the positive.
